Liam Jones (Top Fuel), Timo Habermann (Top Methanol), Åke Persson (Pro Modified) and Jimmy Ålund (Pro Stock) claimed the number one qualifying positions at the Dico Internationals at Tierp Arena and will lead their respective categories into Sunday’s eliminations at round five of the 2017 FIA European Drag Racing Championship. Tommy Grimes, Sverre Dahl, Fredrik Fredlund and Mogens Lund number one qualifiers at Dico Internationals

In two of the four categories of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship there were no changes in the number one qualifiers after Saturday qualifying for the Dico Internationals at Tierp Arena. Tommy Grimes (Super Twin Motorcycle) and Sverre Dahl (Top Fuel Motorcycle) couldn’t improve on their earlier performance, but their elapsed times from Friday were enough to lead their respective categories into tomorrow’s eliminations. Fredrik Fredlund (Pro Stock Motorcyle) and Mogens Lund both scored major improvements and took the lead in their categories.   Continue reading

Liam Jones, Timo Habermann, Åke Persson and Bengt Ljungdahl leaders after the first day of qualifying at Tierp Arena

Liam Jones raced to the number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for the Dico Internationals, round five of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. In Top Methanol Timo Habermann stormed to 5.30 seconds and is the provisional leader at Tierp Arena, Sweden. In Pro Modified Åke Persson was quickest and leads an extremely competitive field with two more qualifying sessions to go. Tommy Grimes, Sverre Dahl, Robert Karlsson and Garry Bowe leaders after Friday qualifying at Tierp Arena

Tommy Grimes  raced to the number one qualifying position in Super Twin Motorcycle at the first day of qualifying for the Dico Internationals, the fourth and final round of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. The American rider stormed to a stunning 6.31 seconds in his second run of the day. In Top Fuel Motorcycle Sverre Dahl impressed with a 5.98 seconds elapsed time to claim the number one qualifying position. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Robert Karlsson stormed to the number one qualifying position, while in Super Street Bike Garry Bowe is the leader at Tierp Arena after two Friday qualifying runs and still two qualifying runs on Saturday to go. Tierp Arena and Dico Internationals is next up in Summit racing EDRS Series. One of the biggest events of the European dragracing season and full fields in almost all classes, FIA, EDRS Pro as in Summit Racing EDRS Series. Right now, the track crew is working their butts off to get the track in best possible shape and the pit crew is getting the pit area ready to welcome all the racers. The heat is building up!

After the rain, there was sun at Linde Open

After a delay caused by rain on Saturday the qualifications could finally start at 1.30 pm in sunshine. The sunshine then lasted almost the rest of the weekend. On Saturday evening time for the traditional evening with crayfish party. This year with a very! very long table filled with these delicacies and all the accessories necessary to be able to enjoy them in full.

Duncan Micallef, Timo Habermann, Michael Gullqvist and Stefan Ernryd winners at Hockenheim NitrOlympX

Duncan Micallef from Malta raced to victory in the Top Fuel final of the NitrOlympX, round four of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at the HockenheimRing, Germany. It was the third consecutive win for the driver from Malta this season. Micallef defeated Jndia Erbacher who advanced to the final in her first Top Fuel race ever. In Top Methanol home favourite Timo Habermann had a bye run in the final when Sandro Bellio suffered mechanical problems short before the start of the run. Reigning champion Michael Gullqvist was the winner in Pro Modified, while in Pro Stock Stefan Ernryd won his first FIA European Championship race after defeating championship leader Bengt Ljungdahl.
