Tommy Grimes, Sverre Dahl, Robert Karlsson and Garry Bowe leaders after Friday qualifying at Tierp Arena
Tommy Grimes raced to the number one qualifying position in Super Twin Motorcycle at the first day of qualifying for the Dico Internationals, the fourth and final round of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. The American rider stormed to a stunning 6.31 seconds in his second run of the day. In Top Fuel Motorcycle Sverre Dahl impressed with a 5.98 seconds elapsed time to claim the number one qualifying position. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Robert Karlsson stormed to the number one qualifying position, while in Super Street Bike Garry Bowe is the leader at Tierp Arena after two Friday qualifying runs and still two qualifying runs on Saturday to go.
Cool weather and great track conditions made it possible to record almost record setting elapsed times in all categories at the first day of qualifying for the Dico Internationals, round four of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship at Tierp Arena.
In Super Twin Motorcycle Tommy Grimes stormed to a stunning 6.31 seconds elapsed time in his second run of the day to claim the number one qualifying position.
Reigning champion Samu Kemppainen impressed as well with a great 6.584 seconds, to end the first day of qualifying in second position.
Marcus Christiansen surprised with an elapsed time of 6.586 seconds and is the provisional number three qualifier. Anders Hörnström, winner of the Tierp race in June, is fourth with 6.83 seconds and championship leader Roman Sixta was the last one to qualify in the 6-second zone and is in sixth position.
Sverre Dahl is the man to beat at the moment in Top Fuel Motorcycle. The Norwegian rider stormed to a stunning 5.98 seconds to take the lead in Top Fuel Motorcycle.
Jan Sturla Hegre was not far behind with 6.14 seconds, while reigning champion Thomas Pettersson claimed the provisional number three qualifying position with 6.99 seconds.
In Pro Stock Motorcycle Robert Karlsson was back after a two-race break and immediately claimed the number one qualifying position in his first run of the day with a great 7.01 seconds.
After his accident at Tierp earlier this year, Kalle Lyrén also made his comeback, raced to an excellent 7.02 seconds, and is the provisional number two qualifier.
Fredrik Fredlund is third (7.06 seconds) and current championship leader Thomas Lysebraaten Olsen fourth with 7.14 seconds.
In Super Street Bike Garry Bowe stormed to a stunning 7.08 seconds and is the leader in this spectacular class after two runs.
Mogens Lund, the current championship leader is not far behind with 7.15 seconds, while former champion Björn Friström is back to form with 7.34 seconds and is the provisional number three qualifier.
Mathias Bohlin is fourth, Vesa Ruhanen fifth and Kim Hilander sixth. Anders Blanck has some work to do tomorrow, as the number two in the championship is only in seventh position with reigning champion Henri Kolehmainen eighth.
In Super Comp Bike Emil Östlund claimed the number one qualifying position with 8.54 seconds, with Peter Svensson second and Tomas Jonsson third.
In Super Gas Bike championship leader Iiro Reinola is the leader after four runs, with Jari Malinen in second position and Micke Ölen third.
