For as long as they can remember, the Bentec name decorated the sides of the red and white machine, but what fewer people might know is that Bentec was founded by Bengtsson and he is still one of the driving forces behind FlexoArt, the parent company of Bentec Engineering. A sneak peek at Perkas
We got a sneak peak in PerErik “Perka” Lindgrens workshop in Piteå, the very North of Sweden, and it’s a lot happening here. The white cool Altered he have had for decades is gone, and the dragster he won last year’s Swedish Championship and EDRS series with is also gone. And what more is, he has sold his old Scania truck! So, what´s happening then! Is he quitting racing or has he got totaly nuts?
A new generation taking over the SFI tour
Third day in SFI Tour was held as usual at Persakers Speedshop in Sweden and SFI team arrived as planned from the boat from Finland and the inspection there. The team threw himself straight in to work.
Wagenius Racing Team promote drag racing at MC-messen 2017
It’s not just for their performance on the dragstrip that Dag and Kathrine Wagenius attract so much attention, it’s also the striking tiger-paint scheme on their motorcycles and their enthusiasm for the sport. And those last two things made father and daughter Wagenius eye catchers at the MC-messen, where the Super Street Bike and Super Comp Bike rider also revealed their plans for the 2017 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. SFI Foundation re-certification in The Netherlands
The 2017 European SFI re-certification tour kicked off today in Heemskerk, The Netherlands. Racers and team members from at least four different countries travelled to the Dutch Hot Rod Association headquarters in Heemskerk, located less than 30 minutes from Schiphol Airport, to re-certify wheels, bell housings, clutches and flywheel shields, to be race ready for the fast approaching 2017 season. And the winner is once again an FIA Top Fuel driver
For the third time this year a Top Fuel driver from the FIA European Championship was honoured by a National Sport Federation for their achievements in the 2016 season. A great honour and a recognition for the sport of drag racing. After Anita Mäkelä was nominated for (Finnish) Super Star of 2016, and Stig Neergaard honoured as Motorsport Profile of the Year, Duncan Micallef won the prestigious title of Sportsman of the Year in Malta. Kristin Hegre steps into the Super Twin footsteps of her son Jan Sturla
The name Hegre is nothing special in Super Twin Motorcycle, you’re tempted to say, as Jan Sturla, although focussing on the Uggerud Brothers Top Fuel Motorcycle in recent years, is a familiar name in this spectacular category. But this time it’s not Jan Sturla, but Kristin Hegre who will enter the Super Twin Motorcycle class in the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. “I’m really excited about this opportunity and it would be a dream come true to race against Anna-Lena Asplund, as that would be the first all-female Super Twin race,” said Kristin Hegre about her 2017 season.
