Friday leaders Stig Neergaard (Top Fuel), Michael Gullqvist (Pro Modified), Bengt Ljungdahl (Pro Stock) and Johnny Oksa (Top Methanol Funny Car) claimed the number one qualifying positions at the FHRA Nitro Nationals at Alastaro and will lead their classes into Sunday’s eliminations at round three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. Vesa Lipponen raced to the surprising number one qualifying position in Super Twin Motorcycle at the first day of qualifying for the FHRA Nitro Nationals, round two of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship at Alastaro, Finland. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Kalle Lyrén impressed with a stunning 7.01 seconds and will enter day two as the clear leader is his category. Stig Neergaard raced to the number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for the FHRA Nitro Nationals, round three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Alastaro, Finland. In Pro Modified reigning champion Michael Gullqvist was quickest in both runs and leads the field with two more qualifying sessions to go. After England and Sweden, it’s time for Finland to welcome the FIA European Drag Racing Championship for round three of their title race. The FHRA Nitro Nationals at the Alastaro Circuit is always a special race and the only time the numerous Finnish fans can see the 8.500 bhp Top Fuelers live in action. After their win at Tierp Arena, Anita Mäkelä (Top Fuel) and Johnny Oksa (Top Methanol Funny Car) enter their home race as the provisional leaders in their respective championships.
