Tommy Grimes, Sverre Dahl, Robert Karlsson and Garry Bowe leaders after Friday qualifying at Tierp Arena
Tommy Grimes raced to the number one qualifying position in Super Twin Motorcycle at the first day of qualifying for the Dico Internationals, the fourth and final round of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. The American rider stormed to a stunning 6.31 seconds in his second run of the day. In Top Fuel Motorcycle Sverre Dahl impressed with a 5.98 seconds elapsed time to claim the number one qualifying position. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Robert Karlsson stormed to the number one qualifying position, while in Super Street Bike Garry Bowe is the leader at Tierp Arena after two Friday qualifying runs and still two qualifying runs on Saturday to go. Duncan Micallef, Timo Habermann, Michael Gullqvist and Stefan Ernryd winners at Hockenheim NitrOlympX
Duncan Micallef from Malta raced to victory in the Top Fuel final of the NitrOlympX, round four of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at the HockenheimRing, Germany. It was the third consecutive win for the driver from Malta this season. Micallef defeated Jndia Erbacher who advanced to the final in her first Top Fuel race ever. In Top Methanol home favourite Timo Habermann had a bye run in the final when Sandro Bellio suffered mechanical problems short before the start of the run. Reigning champion Michael Gullqvist was the winner in Pro Modified, while in Pro Stock Stefan Ernryd won his first FIA European Championship race after defeating championship leader Bengt Ljungdahl. Anita Mäkelä raced to the number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for the NitrOlympX, round four of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at the HockenheimRing. In Top Methanol Timo Habermann stormed to a stunning 5.30 seconds and is the provisional leader at his home track in Germany. Back to Tierp Arena for the grand finale of the EDRS Pro Nordic MC
The Dico International is the fourth round and grand finale of the 2017 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. Two months after the championship kicked off at Tierp Arena, the EDRS Pro Nordic MC is back at the state-of-the-art drag race facility north of Stockholm. Roman Sixta (Super Twin Motorcycle), Thomas Lysebraaten Olsen (Pro Stock Motorcycle), Mogens Lund (Super Street Bike) and Jan Sturla Hegre (Top Fuel Motorcycle) enter the final round as the leader in their respective categories. But with more than 100 points for a race win, everything is still possible. Emil Östlund and Iiro Reinola are the leaders in EDRS Pro Nordic MC Super Comp and Super Gas Bike, but they are also far from safe. Continue reading
FIA European Drag Racing Championship resumes at Hockenheim and Tierp Arena
The 2017 FIA European Drag Racing Championship is at the halfway point of the season and after the summer break part two kicks off with the traditional NitrOlympX at Hockenheim. From Germany the teams have to travel directly to Sweden, as the following weekend the Dico International at Tierp Arena is the next stop on the calendar. For the drivers and teams not only an extremely tight schedule, but in one week the standings in the FIA European Championship can change dramatically. Drag Challenge has its revenge
First time winners, a triple winner, winners from the USA, Sweden and Norway, defeated favourites, a holeshot win in a final, and two 5.9-second runs in Top Fuel Motorcycle. The Drag Challenge at Gardermoen Raceway, round three of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship, was entertainment at its very best and got its revenge after last year’s rain out. Tommy Grimes, Rikard Gustafsson, Thomas Olsen and Robert Nilsson winners at Gardermoen Raceway
Tommy Grimes raced to victory in Super Twin Motorcycle at the Drag Challenge at Gardermoen Raceway, round three of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. It was the first win for the American rider in Europe. There was also a new winner in Super Street Bike as Robert Nilsson defeated Mogens Lund, the winner of the first two EDRS Pro Nordic MC races. In Pro Stock Motorcycle home favourite Thomas Lysebraaten Olsen scored his third win out of three races this season by defeating Timo Savolainen in the final. In Top Fuel Motorcycle Rikard Gustafsson won the Gardermoen race by beating the Drag Challenge record setting Sverre Dahl in the final. Continue reading
