Chris Polidano maximizes at Tierp Internationals
With two entrants, there were not too many points to collect in Top Methanol Dragster at the Tierp Internationals. But Chris Polidano made the best of it and couldn’t have done any better, earning the bonus points for being quickest in every qualifying session, ending up as the number one qualifier, and winning the final. Johnny Oksa takes his first ever FIA Top Methanol Funny Car win in style
Johnny Oksa had already come close a few times, but at the Tierp Internationals nobody could stop the Finn from winning his first ever FIA European Championship Top Methanol Funny Car race. Oksa did it in style with a number one qualifying position and low ET of the meeting. That he didn’t meet any competition in eliminations, was not his fault, as all his opponents ran into problems, while the Finn stayed out of trouble. Continue reading
Samu Kemppainen, Kalle Lyrén, Rikard Gustafsson rule, while Henri Kolehmainen surprises at EDRS Pro Nordic MC season-opening Tierp Internationals
Samu Kemppainen (Super Twin Motorcycle), Kalle Lyrén (Pro Stock Motorcycle) and Rikard Gustafsson (Top Fuel Motorcycle) impressed with dominant wins in their respective categories at the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship season opening Tierp Internationals. All three riders raced to victory from the number one qualifying position at the state-of-the art Tierp Arena facility. In Super Street Bike, Henri Kolehmainen was the surprising winner when favourite and number one qualifier Richard Stubbins’ motor failed to start. In Super Comp Bike and Super Gas Bike the finals couldn’t be contested as the rain that hampered the Tierp Internationals almost all weekend, came back ten minutes too early. Continue reading

Reigning EDRS Pro Nordic MC Super Twin Motorcycle champion Samu Kemppainen impressed at the season-opening Tierp Internationals with another great win. In the final the Finn defeated Greger Johansson. As impressive was the Pro Stock Motorcycle win of Kalle Lyrén at Tierp Arena. Rikard Gustafsson and Henri Kolehmainen were the winners in Top Fuel Motorcycle and Super Street Bike at the first round of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. Continue reading
Anita Mäkelä wins first-ever all-female FIA Top Fuel final at Tierp Internationals

Anita Mäkelä from Finland raced to victory by defeating Birgitte Bremnes from Norway in the first-ever all-female Top Fuel final in the history of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. Mäkelä was the only driver to record 3.9-second runs in the semi-final and final at the Tierp Internationals. Reigning champion Micke Gullqvist was the winner in Pro Modified while Magnus Petersson defeated Bengt Ljungdahl in the Pro Stock final. Chris Polidano from Malta and Johnny Oksa from Finland were winners in Top Methanol Dragster and Top Methanol Funny Car in the second round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Tierp Arena, Sweden. Urs Erbacher raced to the number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for the Tierp Internationals, round two of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. In Pro Modified Mats Eriksson jumped into the number one qualifying position in his second run of the day. With still two qualifying runs to go, Johnny Oksa (Top Methanol Funny Car), Chris Polidano (Top Methanol Dragster) and Jimmy Alund (Pro Stock) are the provisional leaders in their respective categories at Tierp Arena, Sweden. Samu Kemppainen raced to the number one qualifying position in Super Twin Motorcycle at the first day of qualifying for the Tierp Internationals, the season-opening round of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Kalle Lyrén needed his second run to take over the lead, while in Top Fuel Motorcycle Rikard Gustafsson and in Super Street Bike Richard Stubbins are the leaders at Tierp Arena with still two qualifying runs on Saturday to go. FIA European Drag Racing Championship continues at the state-of-the-art Tierp Arena facility
After a great start at The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway, the teams of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship travel to Tierp Arena, the state-of-the-art drag race facility north of Stockholm. Can Stig Neergaard, Jonny Lagg, Bruno Bader and Jimmy Alund repeat their strong Santa Pod performances, or will the chasing group catch up with the provisional leaders? New competitors will start their European campaign in Sweden and with a healthy entry in almost all Pro classes, and the fact that Tierp Arena is almost a guarantee for European records, the Tierp Internationals (June 16-19) is a race everybody is looking forward to.
