Liam Jones raced to the provisional number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for the FHRA Nitro Nationals, round three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Alastaro, Finland. In Top Methanol Jonny Lagg is the leader after day one, while Michael Gullqvist stormed to a great 5.93 seconds to take the lead in Pro Modified. In Pro Stock reigning champion Bengt Ljungdahl claimed the provisional number one qualifying position.

EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship heads to Alastaro for round number two

After the spectacular season kick off at Tierp Arena, the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship travels to Alastaro Circuit for round two of the championship. The Tierp Internationals were blessed with excellent racing, tough competition and stunning elapsed times with numerous personal bests, a promising prospect for the rest of the season, not least for Alastaro. Vesa Lipponen, Rikard Gustafsson, Mathias Bohlin, Thomas Lysebraate Olsen, Ulf Fridolfsson and Jami Oksanen are the leaders in their respective categories, and as two of these riders are from Finland and with several other countrymen among the favourites, the Finnish fans will have plenty to cheer for. Alastaro is ready for round three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship

After two excellent races at Santa Pod Raceway and Tierp Arena, it’s already time for race number three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship, the FHRA Nitro Nationals at Alastaro. Anita Mäkelä, Timo Habermann, Stefan Ernryd and Jimmy Ålund are the leaders in their respective categories, but their pursuers are not far behind. The competition at Alastaro will certainly be as close as it was in the first two rounds of the championship. Flying start to the 2018 EDRS Pro Nordic MC season at Tierp Arena

The 2018 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship kicked off with the Tierp Internationals at Tierp Arena, and what a season opener it was. Numerous personal bests, a record bump spot in Super Twin Motorcycle, stunning 5.8-second runs for Rikard Gustafsson in Top Fuel Motorcycle, Mogens Lund’s first 6-second run in Super Street Bike, close racing, surprise winners in several categories, and also important for a great drag race event, perfect weather and track conditions. Anita Mäkelä, Dennis Habermann, Andreas Arthursson and Michael Malmgren winners at Tierp Internationals in Sweden

Anita Mäkelä from Finland raced to victory in the Top Fuel final of the Tierp Internationals, round two of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Tierp Arena, Sweden. In Top Methanol Dennis Habermann defeated his brother and reigning champion Timo Habermann to take the win. In Pro Modified Andreas Arthursson surprised with a win and his first FIA trophy, while in Pro Stock Michael Malmgren made an end to a long winless period by defeating Stefan Ernryd in the final. Vesa Lipponen, Rikard Gustafsson, Mathias Bohlin and Thomas Olsen winners at EDRS Pro Nordic MC round 1 at Tierp Arena

Vesa Lipponen raced to victory in Super Twin Motorcycle at the season-opening Tierp Internationals at Tierp Arena. After stunning eliminations the rider from Finland defeated Marcus Christiansen in the final. In Top Fuel Motorcycle Rikard Gustafsson was in a class of his own and took the win in a string of 6.0-second elapsed times. In Super Street Bike Mathias Bohlin was the upset winner as the Swede defeated reigning champion and number one qualifier Mogens Lund from Denmark in the final. In Pro Stock Motorcycle the trophy went to Norway with a win for Thomas Lysebraate Olsen. Continue reading
