Let’s get 2017 started

With the fireworks extinguished and the champagne bottles empty, 2016 is history, so let’s get 2017 started. The 2016 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship was exciting all the way, but also hampered by, let’s call it ‘incalculable’ weather. Kalle Lyrén and Samu Kemppainen lived up to their high expectations, while Thomas Pettersson and Henri Kolehmainen were maybe less obvious champions. Drag racing at Autosport International in Birmingham

Autosport International is Europe’s largest indoor pre-season motorsport event and will be celebrating its 27th anniversary from 12th-15th January 2017 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. Drag racing will be represented by Santa Pod Raceway, as the home of the opening and final round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship has its own stand at Autosport International. A new year, a new season on the way

The 2016 FIA European Drag Racing Championship was a great one, with three out of five titles decided in the penultimate runs of the season, the semi-finals of the European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway. But that was 2016, and with 2017 just started, it’s time to look ahead. Anita Mäkelä, Michael Gullqvist, Jimmy Ålund, Johnny Oksa and Jonny Lagg will wear the number one plates for the next nine months.
