SFI Foundation re-certification in The Netherlands

The 2017 European SFI re-certification tour kicked off today in Heemskerk, The Netherlands. Racers and team members from at least four different countries travelled to the Dutch Hot Rod Association headquarters in Heemskerk, located less than 30 minutes from Schiphol Airport, to re-certify wheels, bell housings, clutches and flywheel shields, to be race ready for the fast approaching 2017 season. On Wednesday March 8th Speedgroup visited Motorsoffan #193 web-TV show. Broadcasted from the Nitroz studio in the South part of Stockholm, Sweden. Work Group member Carl-Erik Kihlman, CEO Åsa Kinnemar and contingency program co-ordinator Birgitta Blakstad Poolsaar took part and shared information and news from the operation, Series and Championships.

And the winner is once again an FIA Top Fuel driver

For the third time this year a Top Fuel driver from the FIA European Championship was honoured by a National Sport Federation for their achievements in the 2016 season. A great honour and a recognition for the sport of drag racing. After Anita Mäkelä was nominated for (Finnish) Super Star of 2016, and Stig Neergaard honoured as Motorsport Profile of the Year, Duncan Micallef won the prestigious title of Sportsman of the Year in Malta. Kristin Hegre steps into the Super Twin footsteps of her son Jan Sturla

The name Hegre is nothing special in Super Twin Motorcycle, you’re tempted to say, as Jan Sturla, although focussing on the Uggerud Brothers Top Fuel Motorcycle in recent years, is a familiar name in this spectacular category. But this time it’s not Jan Sturla, but Kristin Hegre who will enter the Super Twin Motorcycle class in the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. “I’m really excited about this opportunity and it would be a dream come true to race against Anna-Lena Asplund, as that would be the first all-female Super Twin race,” said Kristin Hegre about her 2017 season. Kenneth Holmberg ready for a new start

The 2016 season was one Kenneth Holmberg would like to delete from his memory. The Swecomposite Pro Stock Motorcycle rider was hit by all kinds of mechanical problems and bad luck. “We decided to forget what happened and are looking forward to the 2017 season,” said Holmberg, who will do the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship and FIM races as well.
