Vance & Hines contingency partner for EDRS Pro Stock Motorcycle
This season, and for the fifth consecutive year, Vance & Hines, the world famous American manufacturer of aftermarket motorcycle performance parts, will be a contingency partner for Pro Stock Motorcycle in the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. “We have some great racers representing us in Europe. We want to help support and give back to the people that believe in the Vance & Hines products. The racer that buys our products and supports our company deserves to get something in return, and this is the best way to reach them, we feel,” said Eddie Krawiec, 2017 and four-time NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion, rider of the Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson and business manager for the Vance & Hines race shop. Updated last registration date for May events!
OK everybody, race season is coming up very quickly! Even though the snow still hasn’t disappeared in all parts of Scandinavia, registration to the first races is now open.
Another nitrous car on the strip
More good news for the Pro Modified class. Lars Järpler is a former crew member who will be racing his own car in 2018. Lars has been part of Pro Mod racing for a long time, the last couple of seasons in Roger Johansson and Rolf Simonssons teams. In addition, he has been racing in other classes in his earlier career. Now it’s time to go racing with his own Pro Mod car and team in the 2018 Summit Racing EDRS Series.
What a weekend! An impressive number of visitors with a huge interest in our sport
With all of 83 812 visitors, to be exact, this year’s Bilsport Performance & Custom Motor Show in Jönköping turned out to be the second largest event as regards to the number of visitors during the 48 years it has been going on. Speedgroup was of course on site to attract more participants and larger crowds to our sport, and we managed it well.
New first class drag strip in Kauhava, Finland
FHRA Marketing Oy and LSK Business Park Oy have signed a mutual agreement to build an international level drag racing arena at Kauhava airfield, Finland. The construction work will start almost immediately and the track will host its first race in August. From 2019 Kauhava will be the new home for the FHRA Nitro Nationals, the Finnish round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. Continue reading
PiPPi Willén track announcer for EDRS Pro Nordic MC
PiPPi Willén will be the expert track announcer at all four races of the 2018 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. Speedgroup contacted Willén as they were looking for an announcer for the whole series with knowledge of the sport and the EDRS Pro Nordic MC as well. It’s been in the plans for a few years and now comes to fruition. A track announcer who attends all races will know the ins and outs of the whole series, the championship and the highlights of previous races and in that way is a valuable asset to the series. Santa Pod Raceway completes the new concrete track
The build of the brand new state-of-the-art Santa Pod Raceway concrete quarter mile track has been completed. Last Saturday the two highest bidders in an online charity auction became the first drivers to traverse Santa Pod Raceway’s brand new, all-concrete race track. A new drainage system and a full refurbishment of the spectator grass bank was also part of the project. Continue reading
Team Asylum, a strong combination of two worlds
TFJ Motorsport and Hope Racing are two familiar team names in Top Fuel (car) and Pro Stock Motorcycle respectively. With immediate effect the two teams join forces under the new umbrella Team Asylum and will fly the flag for CBD Asylum in FIA Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle.
