Teemu Kettula, Thomas Olsen, Jan Sturla Hegre and Mogens Lund winners at Alastaro

Teemu Kettula was the upset winner in Super Twin Motorcycle at the FHRA Nitro Nationals at Alastaro, round two of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. In the all Finnish final Kettula defeated favourite Samu Kemppainen. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Thomas Lysebraate Olsen won his second race of the season by defeating number one qualifier Timo Savolainen. There was also a second consecutive win for Mogens Lund in Super Street Bike as the Dane was in a class of his own at Alastaro. In Top Fuel Motorcycle Jan Sturla Hegre was the winner in Finland. Duncan Micallef, Timo Habermann, Åke Persson and Bengt Ljungdahl winners at FHRA Nitro Nationals at Alastaro

Duncan Micallef from Malta raced to victory in the Top Fuel final of the FHRA Nitro Nationals, round three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Alastaro, Finland. In Top Methanol Timo Habermann was the quickest all day and claimed the trophy. Åke Persson was the winner in Pro Modified and that was the Swedes first ever victory in the FIA European Championship. In Pro Stock Bengt Ljungdahl defeated Stefan Ernryd in the final to take the win. Continue reading

Svein Olav Rolfstad raced to the number one qualifying position in Super Twin Motorcycle at the final day of qualifying for the FHRA Nitro Nationals, round two of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship at Alastaro, Finland. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Timo Savolainen claimed the number one qualifying position. In Top Fuel Motorcycle Friday leader Jan Sturla Hegre remained in the number one position, while in Super Street Bike Mogens Lund was in a class of his own and will enter eliminations as the number one qualifier. Friday Pro Modified and Pro Stock leaders Michael Gullqvist and Jimmy Ålund couldn’t improve on their earlier performance, but it was enough to remain in the lead of their classes. In Top Fuel and Top Methanol Stig Neergaard and Dennis Habermann were the new number one qualifiers after Saturday qualifying for the FHRA Nitro Nationals at Alastaro and will lead their respective categories into Sunday’s eliminations at round three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. Four reigning FIA European champions provisional leaders at Alastaro

Four reigning FIA European champions are the leaders after the first day of qualifying for the FHRA Nitro Nationals, round three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Alastaro, Finland. In Top Fuel Anita Mäkelä raced to the number one qualifying position. In Pro Modified Michael Gullqvist was quickest and leads the field with two more qualifying sessions to go. In Pro Stock 10-time FIA European champion Jimmy Ǻlund is the number one qualifier, while in Top Methanol Jonny Lagg leads the field after day one. Continue reading

The Tierp Internationals had it all

The EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship kicked off the 2017 season with the Tierp Internationals at Tierp Arena, and what a season opener it was. Drama, close racing, surprising winners in several categories, and last but not least, great weather conditions after the rain plagued 2016 season. The Tierp Internationals, some highlights and notable events

The Tierp Internationals had everything that makes drag racing so interesting. After the rain shortened opening round at Santa Pod, round two of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship finished without any problems and with large numbers of entrants in all classes, exciting races, great elapsed times, a new European record and a rookie winning his first FIA race all made the Tierp Internationals a great event.
