We could almost cut and paste our daily preface from yesterday here as it was very much a repeat with rain delays and cleanups heading towards a late finish for the FIM-E classes until a substantial downpour curtailed activities with only Pro Stock Bike getting their third session in and the rest high tailing it back to the pits after only two qualifiers over Friday and Saturday. Nonetheless today saw a number of PBs and also a World Record which we’ll come to at the end of this update.

A long and frustrating day eventually saw a very nice single qualifying session for the FIM-E classes after waiting out showers, track clean-ups and a problematic patch in the shutdown area.

Susanne Callin is the provisional number one qualifier in Top Fuel after the first day of qualifying for the European Finals, the fourth and final round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod Raceway in England. In Top Methanol Daniel Jedborn impressed with a great 5.30 seconds to take the lead after day one, while Jan Ericsson stormed to a great 5.81 seconds to take the lead in Pro Modified. In Pro Stock Michael Malmgren claimed the provisional number one qualifying position with a great 6.60 seconds ET.

And so we reach the end of the 2022 FIM-E series which has been a somewhat confusing affair both on and off track, but at least the traditional season closer is back where the season started back in May at Santa Pod.

2022 drag racing season has come to an end, again and too fast. It is time crown the winners in 2022 Summit Racing EDRS Series and the 2022 Finals is hosted by both Gardermoen and Kauhava Raceways. That will make things a bit more exciting than normal. We can see now, there is a few classes that is all cleared out but in others there´s going to be big battles on both sides of Scandinavia.

Top Doorslammer round 4 at Sundsvall Raceway wasn’t our weekend, track was too tricky! (And not just for us, it was the first time ever I heard JR Dragster team complain about a track condition) I really wanted it to be better than it was and tried too much! And then it also ended early in elimination round one against Kenneth Lingvald with broken crank blower pulley bolts 2.2 seconds out when I finally took away enough power to go down the track!…
