Five seconds with room for improvement, PBR Rocket team looking forward to 2023

Utterly unique, the PBR Rocket put a major full stop on the end of the 2022 season running a stellar 5.932/230.08 at the UK National Finals to become the fifth FIM-E Top Fuel Bike into the five second bracket and rider Al Smith at number nine on the combined FIM-E Top Fuel/Super Twin Top Fuel Bike quick list. Heading into 2023 and team owner Phil Baimbridge is looking to build on this ticket (“blemishes” on the 5.93 run suggest it could get into the 5.8s).

Venables goes quick and diversifies

Multi-time Super Street Bike champion and record holder at European and UK level Steve Venables finished off the 2022 FIM-E season with a massive fireball at the final four stage of the Euro Finals eliminator. 2023 has already seen the British rider resetting his personal best ET with a 6.6617/225.90 blast at the UK opening round back in early April. However, Ven won’t be challenging for a third FIM-E SSB crown this season.

Major investments for Tindra and Tim Christensen heading into the 2023 season

Tindra and Tim Christensen, with their father Kennet and their mother the driving forces behind TC Dragracing, are right now on site at Vårgårda Dragway for the first Summit Racing EDRS Series event. They have been working hard to get all their racing equipment ready for the 2023 season. A brand new engine is on its way for Tim’s Pro Stock Motorcycle and Tindra is busy with the paintjob of the body of the bike. Tindra will again compete in Super Pro ET this season, although there are some updates on the dragster as well.

The FIA safety devices set for EDRC introduction

Two new safety devices are to be introduced to the FIA European Drag Racing Championship from the beginning of the series’ 2023 season. The FIA will provide an Impact Data Recorder to every FIA EDRC competitor taking part this year. Launched in 2021, the FIA IDR is a lightweight low-cost electronic impact data recorder developed in collaboration with AiM Technologies.
