Antti Horto, Tony Bryntesson, Andreas Arthursson and Jimmy Ålund winners at SpeedEvents Internationals

Antti Horto raced to victory by defeating Duncan Micallef in the Top Fuel final for the SpeedEvents Internationals at Tierp Arena, round two of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. In Top Methanol Tony Bryntesson won a quick and close final over Jonny Lagg, while Andreas Arthursson and Jimmy Ålund claimed the win in Pro Modified and Pro Stock. With three winners from Sweden, the race was very successful for the organizing Scandinavian country.

Duncan Micallef, Sandro Bellio, David Vegter and Jimmy Ålund number one qualifiers at Tierp Arena

At the first day of qualifying for the SpeedEvents Internationals four drivers from Sweden took the lead in the four categories of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. As expected there were numerous improvements on day two with dramatic changes in the qualifying order as a result. In Top Fuel Duncan Micallef, from Malta, stormed into the number one qualifying position, Sandro Bellio, from Belgium, took over the lead in Top Methanol and Dutchman David Vegter stormed into the lead in Pro Modified. Jimmy Ålund (Pro Stock) was the only driver who was able to remain in the number one position and the only number one qualifier from Sweden. Thus Micallef, Bellio, Vegter and Ålund will lead their respective categories into Sunday’s eliminations at round two of the 2024 FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Tierp Arena.

Swedish drivers on top after day one of qualifying for the SpeedEvents Internationals at Tierp Arena

Susanne Callin is in the provisional number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for the SpeedEvents Internationals, round two of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Tierp Arena in Sweden. In Top Methanol Tony Bryntesson is the provisional leader, while in Pro Modified and Pro Stock Andreas Arthursson and Jimmy Ålund claimed the provisional number one qualifying position after two runs. With four drivers from Sweden leading their respective categories, the home crowd has plenty to cheer for on day two.

Rain brings early end to The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway

Rain brought an early end to the eliminations of The Main Event, round one of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod Raceway. After a rain delay in the morning, the FIA classes Top Fuel, Top Methanol and Pro Stock had completed their first round of eliminations, and Pro Modified their second round, when the rain came back several times. Although the Santa Pod Raceway crew did their very best to dry the track, it was impossible to start racing again.

Jndia Erbacher, David Vegter, Tony Bryntesson and Jimmy Ålund number one qualifiers at The Main Event

Jndia Erbacher (Top Fuel), David Vegter (Pro Modified) and Jimmy Ålund (Pro Stock) remained the number one qualifiers for The Main Event with the elapsed times they recorded on the Saturday. Only in Top Methanol there was a new leader as Tony Bryntesson recorded 5.36 seconds to take over the number one qualifying position. Thus Erbacher, Vegter, Ålund and Bryntesson are the four drivers who will lead their respective categories into Monday’s eliminations at the opening round of the 2024 FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod Raceway.

Jndia Erbacher, David Vegter, Silvio Strauch and Jimmy Ålund leaders after the first day of qualifying for The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway

Jndia Erbacher raced to the number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for The Main Event, the opening round of the 2024 FIA European Drag Racing Championship. In Pro Modified David Vegter stormed to a great 5.80 seconds to take the lead. In Top Methanol Silvio Strauch was quickest with 5.64 seconds while in Pro Stock Jimmy Ålund once again claimed the provisional number one position with a great 6.56 seconds.

Ida Zetterström, Jan Ericsson, Linn Fløysvik and Michael Malmgren 2023 FIA European Drag Racing champions

Ida Zetterström (Top Fuel), Jan Ericsson (Pro Modified), Linn Fløysvik (Top Methanol) and Michael Malmgren (Pro Stock) claimed the 2023 FIA European Drag Racing Championship titles in their respective categories at the European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway. Zetterström won her title in style by claiming the victory in the final round of the 2023 FIA European Drag Racing Championship as well. Fløysvik secured her title by defeating Sandro Bellio in the semifinals, while Malmgren defeated Stefan Ernryd in the semifinals to win the title. The European Finals event win in Top Methanol and Pro Stock went to Johnny Oksa and Simon Ekengren respectively. In Pro Modified Ericsson retained his title with his Hockenheim win, thus a semifinal finish didn’t hurt the Swede, while David Vegter claimed his first FIA European Championship race win.

Ida Zetterström (Top Fuel), Sandro Bellio (Top Methanol), Jan Ericsson (Pro Modified) and Simon Ekengren (Pro Stock) claimed the number one qualifying positions at the  European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway in England and will lead their respective categories into Sunday’s eliminations at the fifth and final round of the 2023 FIA European Drag Racing Championship.

Ida Zetterström is the provisional number one qualifier in Top Fuel after the first day of qualifying for the European Finals, the fifth and final round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod Raceway in England. In Top Methanol Sandro Bellio is in the lead after day one, while Jan Ericsson stormed to a great 5.82 seconds to take the lead in Pro Modified. In Pro Stock Michael Malmgren claimed the provisional number one qualifying position with a great 6.68 seconds ET.

Gold for Ida Zetterström, Johnny Oksa, Jan Ericsson and Michael Malmgren at NitrOlympX

Ida Zetterström raced to victory in the Top Fuel final of the NitrOlympX, round four of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at the Rico Anthes Quartermile of the HockenheimRIng. In Pro Modified Jan Ericsson claimed the victory. Zetterström and Ericsson extended their lead in the championship and although it’s not official yet, it’s almost certain that they will be crowned as the 2023 FIA European champions in their respective categories. In Top Methanol Johnny Oksa defeated Sandro Bellio in the final, while in Pro Stock Michael Malmgren claimed the win.
