2026 SFI Foundation re-certification tour in The Netherlands

After kicking off the 2026 European SFI re-certification tour at Santa Pod Raceway last week, it was time for the Dutch stop on the Thursday morning, March 19. Racers and team members from Germany, Switzerland and of course The Netherlands, travelled to Hotel Ibis, located almost at Schiphol Airport, to re-certify parts to be ready when the new season kicks off in a few weeks.

The Dutch Hot Rod Association, represented by KNAF (Dutch Motorsport Federation) Scrutineer Jaap Blom and Sven Klut, Germany, were host to the Dutch stop on the European SFI re-certification tour. Luke and Andy Robinson and Lars-Göran (LG) Eriksson once again were on duty to do the re-certification and it was great to see Jennifer Faye again as well.

From 8 until 11 am it was extremely busy for the SFI crew. Gerd Habermann arrived in Badhoevedorp on the Wednesday evening and was number one at 8.00 am with many parts to re-certify. Andrea Kloss (Deutscher Motorsport Verband) was early as well and had items with her from no fewer than ten different teams! All the way from Switzerland came Peter Wacker with parts from his own car and from Marcus Hilt.

The Dutch Pro Modified teams were represented by Elin Lindegren-Vegter and Marck Harteveld, who also had some parts with him from Sandro Bellio. A car from Technomotion in the car park made clear there were also parts from Kim Kristiansen’s Pontiac Pro Mod for re-certification. And from Germany came Top Methanol Funny Car driver Jürgen Nagel. Bell housings, flex plates and clutches, were the most popular items to be re-certified.

From the Sportsman classes there were many German and Dutch drivers and team members in Badhoevedorp. For example Kenneth Celestin, Hans van der Spek, Michel Huis (House Brothers), Wolter Visser (father of Cheyenne Visser, Gremlin Drag Racing), John Baron and Mike Hollaar, who will be back in action after a long break. All together it was a great meeting for the teams, the DHRA and SFI.

Just after 11 am all parts were re-certified and the SFI crew were ready in time to catch their flight to Helsinki for the next stop on the European tour on Friday.

Friday, March 20, the SFI re-certification tour continues in Finland where the FHRA are host to the third stop on the tour. Saturday the SFI crew will have a busy day at ME Racing Service AB, Borlänge, Sweden.
