Gustafsson, Bengtsson, Morrison Jnr and Maurice lead after Friday’s qualifying

FIM-E European Drag Bike Championship – Round Two – Summit Equipment Internationals, Tierp Arena, Sweden 7th-10th August
Glorious conditions greeted the massed ranks of the FIM-E Dragbike classes at sunny Tierp Arena just north of Stockholm for today’s opening qualifying.

Liam Jones claimed the provisional number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals, round two of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Tierp Arena, Sweden. In Top Methanol Jonny Lagg stormed to a great 5.27 seconds and is the provisional leader, while in Pro Modified and Pro Stock Jere Rantaniemi and Jimmy Ålund recorded the quickest run and claimed the provisional number one qualifying position.

The SpeedEvents Internationals at Tierp Arena were more than just a round of the Summit Racing EDRS Series. The spectators were offered three days of great racing with several personal bests and even a world record that was reset two times. Last but not least the eliminations were more than exciting with several surprise winners. And all of that in glorious weather conditions.

Rain brought an early end to the eliminations of The Main Event, round one of the 2025 FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod Raceway. Top Methanol had completed their semi-finals and Pro Stock and Top Fuel were in the staging lanes for their semi-finals and final respectively, when it started to rain. After two hours waiting, it was still drizzling and with the forecast of rain in the next hour, the race director was left no other choice than to cancel the event. At that moment Pro Modified had completed two elimination rounds.

Almost inevitably, the rainmaking combination of a British Bank Holiday weekend and a drag racing event caused the early termination of eliminations day at Santa Pod Raceway’s Main Event. Delays due to on track incidents, periodic showers and a curious running order meant that all of the FIM-E classes were terminated before the semi-final stage when the final deluge rolled in.

Susanne Callin (Top Fuel), Sandro Bellio (Top Methanol), Marck Harteveld (Pro Modified) and Robin Norén (Pro Stock) improved on their Saturday performance to claim the number one positions in Sunday qualifying for The Main Event, round one of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. These four drivers will lead their respective categories into Monday’s eliminations at Santa Pod Raceway. Looking at the qualifying lists, it will be an exciting and action packed bank holiday Monday at Santa Pod.

The 2024 FIM-E Dragbike season came to a close after a long and spectacular eliminations day at Santa Pod Raceway. Overnight heavy rain and then some unwelcome delays caused by more rain and oildowns pushed the event completion right up to the local curfew, but with all eliminators decided wrapped up in the gloom and champions crowned.
