After the season kick off at Tierp Arena, the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship travels to the brand new Kauhava track for round two of the championship. The Tierp Internationals were blessed with excellent racing and new European records in Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle, a promising prospect for some exciting action at Kauhava. With Filippos Papafilippou, Marcus Christiansen, Vesa Ruhanen, Kalle Lyrén, Rasmus Östlund and Trygve Kaerstad Helgerud as the leaders in their respective categories, the EDRS Pro Nordic MC has riders from five countries in the number one position. After two excellent races at Santa Pod Raceway and Tierp Arena, it’s already time for race number three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship, the FHRA Nitro Nationals at the brand new racetrack in Kauhava, Finland. In Top Fuel Anita Mäkelä won the first two races of the season, while Jimmy Ålund took both victories in Pro Stock, and so these two drivers have a reasonable margin to the numbers two in their respective categories. Jonny Lagg and Jan Ericsson travel to Finland as the leaders in Top Methanol and Pro Modified, but in these two categories the pursuers are not far behind. Continue reading →

Only a few days to go and the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship kicks off with its traditional opener, the Tierp Internationals at Tierp Arena. Once again the most prestigious motorcycle drag racing championship of Northern Europe counts six different categories and will be decided in four races. An interesting fact is that the first Tierp race and Kauhava in Finland are also part of the FIM Europe European Drag Bike Championship. Marcus Christiansen, Thomas Lysebraate Olsen, Thomas Pettersson, Mathias Bohlin, Peter Östlund and Jami Oksanen are the reigning champions, but not all six riders will be able to defend their title.
