Number one for Bengt Ljungdahl
The 2017 season was one to remember for Bengt Ljungdahl as the Swedish driver won his first FIA European Pro Stock Championship. With the blue VP Racing Fuels backed Chevrolet Camaro, he succeeded the other blue Camaro of 10-time European champion Jimmy Ålund. With the number one on the car, Ljungdahl will go for another title in 2018, but as the competition in Pro Stock is extremely close, he knows it will be tough. Continue reading
Santa Pod Raceway completes the new concrete track
The build of the brand new state-of-the-art Santa Pod Raceway concrete quarter mile track has been completed. Last Saturday the two highest bidders in an online charity auction became the first drivers to traverse Santa Pod Raceway’s brand new, all-concrete race track. A new drainage system and a full refurbishment of the spectator grass bank was also part of the project. Continue reading

TFJ Motorsport and Hope Racing are two familiar team names in Top Fuel (car) and Pro Stock Motorcycle respectively. With immediate effect the two teams join forces under the new umbrella Team Asylum and will fly the flag for CBD Asylum in FIA Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle. Sascha Pretzsch steps up to Top Methanol Funny Car
No big announcements, but observant Facebook drag race followers must have taken notice of the short posts about a Swiss racer crossing the ocean to pick up a Top Methanol Funny Car. That Swiss racer was former Competition Eliminator driver Sascha Pretzsch, and yes, he is the new owner of the ex Sir Geoff Goodwin, Greg Hunter driven Synoil Racing TAFC Chevy Monte Carlo. Still a roof, but no doors anymore for Pretzsch, who will make his TMFC debut later this season, to go for a full FIA European Top Methanol Championship assault next year. Continue reading
Busy start for SFI Foundation re-certification tour in The Netherlands
The 2018 European SFI re-certification tour kicked off today in Heemskerk, The Netherlands. Racers and team members from Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and of course The Netherlands travelled to the Dutch Hot Rod Association headquarters in Heemskerk to re-certify wheels, bell housings, clutches and flywheel shields, to be race ready for the 2018 season. FIA Championship and Nostalgia events with two new cars for Stig Neergaard
Never a dull moment when Stig Neergaard and his team are around. And that will be the same for 2018. Stig Neergaard Racing will debut a newly build Nostalgia Slingshot Top Fuel dragster at shows and events and will do the FIA European Top Fuel Championship as well. Neergaard will start the FIA season with the ‘Eye of the Storm’, but this well-known car will be replace by an ex Brittany Force Monster Energy car bought from the States. Continue reading
Timo and Dennis Habermann to contest full 2018 FIA European Championship tour
From the Habermann brothers and eurodragster.com comes the news that German two-car Top Methanol Dragster team Werner Habermann Racing will contest all six rounds of the 2018 FIA European Top Methanol Championship. Timo Habermann will defend his 2017 FIA European Championship title, while last year’s runner-up Dennis Habermann will do his very best to beat his brother and get the number one back on his car. Showtime for Nitro Vikings
Now that the racing season is over, it’s time to meet and thank the fans and partners, and meet new ones at shows and exhibitions. Maja Udtian and her Nitro Vikings Top Fuel Drag Racing Team had a busy but also very successful and enjoyable two weeks with the Offshore Technology Days and the Oslo Motor Show.
