SFI Foundation re-certification tour in The Netherlands

After kicking off the 2024 European SFI re-certification tour at Santa Pod Raceway on the Tuesday, it was time for the Dutch stop on the Thursday morning, March 13. Racers and team members from Germany, The Netherlands and even Italy, travelled to Hotel Ibis, located almost at Schiphol Airport, to re-certify parts to be race ready when the new season kicks off in a few weeks.

The Dutch Hot Rod Association, represented by Jaap Blom and Gerard Roelofsen, were host to the Dutch stop on the European SFI re-certification tour. Jennifer Faye, Luke and Andy Robinson and Lars-Göran (LG) Eriksson once again were on duty to do the re-certification.

Especially in the early hours, it was very busy  for the SFI crew as several German racers arrived on the Wednesday evening to be in time. The Scappocin family (Gemelli Racing) had to travel more than 1.000 km from Italy to re-certify some parts. Because everybody was in time, the SFI crew were ready before 12 pm to catch their flight to Helsinki for the third stop on the European tour on Friday.

Bell housings, flex plates and clutches, were the post popular items in The Netherlands to be re-certified. FIA Pro Mod runner up David Vegter made a quick visit to Badhoevedorp, together with Jan Scheppers (Velocity Racing, Velocity Classics). Other racers from The Netherlands were Michel Huis (House Brothers), John Baron and Herman Zijlstra, to mention a few.

From Germany came Michael Winter (Heartbeat Racing), Clarissa Czekalla, Gerd Habermann, Dominik Reinhardt (Fast Damage Racing Corvette) and last but not least Jürgen Nagel, the Top Methanol Funny Car racer who will try to start his FIA season at The Main Event. As mention before, the Scappocin family came all the way from Italy.

Friday, March 15, the SFI re-certification tour continues in Finland where the FHRA are host to the third stop on the tour. Saturday the SFI crew will have a busy day at ME Racing Service AB, Borlänge, Sweden.
