That period of not racing was extended with another few years, but now he will be back. After almost eight months of hard work by Joeri Woudenberg in the Netherlands to update the famous Pontiac Firebird ‘68, the man from Denmark will make his comeback at Tierp Arena.

With a runner-up finish at the SpeedEvents Internationals, David Vegter took the lead in the FIA ​​European Pro Modified Championship. At the opening race of the season in England, Vegter claimed the first qualifying position. With the Vegter Pro Mod Racing ’67 Camaro, the Dutchman repeated this feat at round two in Sweden. In this race at Tierp Arena, Vegter advanced to the final by defeating his closest competitor in the title race. The runner-up position was enough to take the lead in the standings of this prestigious championship with a 35-point advantage over the number two.

After months of preparation, the time has finally come. The Vegter Pro Mod Racing ’67 Camaro can leave the workshop for the first runs of the season. With several technical updates and a fresh look, David Vegter and his team travel to Santa Pod Raceway for The Main Event, May 25 to 27. In preparation for this first round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship, Vegter will first take part in next weekend’s The Doorslammers at the same English track.

This season the Frenchman might reset records as he will complete a double programme, the Motorsport UK Pro Modified Championship and, for the first time, the full FIA European Pro Modified Championship tour.

Without a doubt, Andres Arnover is the Pro Mod driver with the most runs to his credit so far this season when the FIA European Drag Racing Championship kicks off with The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway.
