Pro Dutch Racing kick off the season with the double at Santa Pod Raceway

There are only a few days left and Pro Dutch Racing will make the first runs of the new season at Santa Pod Raceway. The Doorslammers kicks off the season on May 20 and 21, a week later followed by The Main Event, the opening round of the FIA European Pro Modified Championship. This title fight is the main goal for Michel Tooren and his team Pro Dutch Racing. Last season, the Dutchman had his final breakthrough in this most important drag racing championship in Europe by winning the prestigious NitrOlympX at the HockenheimRing. Thanks to this victory, Tooren finished in fourth place in the final standings of the championship. The preparations for the new season have now been completed and Pro Dutch Racing are going for more victories and an even higher ranking.

Voodoo Hemi Racing are ready to attack

The month of May has arrived again and that means that the FIA European Drag Racing Championship is about to start! For the second consecutive year, Marck Harteveld and his team Voodoo Hemi Racing will participate in every round of this most important title fight in European drag racing. After last season’s fifth place, Harteveld now wants to take the next step. In recent months, the Voodoo Hemi Racing crew have worked hard to be one hundred percent prepared for the start of the season. There is no lack of motivation when the lights turn green for the first time at the end of May when the FIA European Championship kicks off with The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway.

David Vegter runner-up in FIA European Pro Modified Championship

David Vegter and his team Vegter Pro Mod Racing can look back on an excellent season. Claiming the runner-up position in the 2022 FIA European Pro Modified Championship, the Dutchman scored his best ever result. In the most competitive and most international category of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship, Vegter finished as the runner-up at The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway, claimed the number one qualifying position at the famous NitrOlympX at Hockenheim, and recorded at least one run in the 5.8 or 5.9-second zone at every race.

David Vegter in season best ET to semi-finals at EDRS Sweden Nationals

After claiming the runner-up position at The Main Event, David Vegter continued his impressive start of the season with a semi-final finish and best ET of the season at the EDRS Sweden Nationals at Tierp Arena. The Dutchman’s 5.847 seconds was not far from his personal best. The EDRS Sweden Nationals  was round one of the Bilsport EDRS Pro Modified Series and Swedish Pro Modified Championship and with almost all of the Scandinavian top teams at present, the race had an extremely competitive line-up.

Strong start of the season for David Vegter with runner-up position at The Main Event

David Vegter can look back on one of his best ever starts of a season. At Santa Pod Raceway the Dutchman claimed the runner-up position at The Main Event, the opening round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. On his road to the final, Vegter and the Vegter Pro Mod Racing ’67 Chevrolet Camaro improved their elapsed times on almost every run. This once again proved that after all the updates and modifications, the team made major steps in the right direction during the weekend. In the final Vegter had to acknowledge that reigning European Pro Modified champion and European recordholder Jan Ericsson from Sweden was a bit quicker.

New design and new colours for Vegter Pro Mod Racing

With renewed energy and a brand new design, Vegter Pro Mod Racing were ready to face any competitor and to go for the 2020 FIA European Pro Modified Championship title. But COVID-19 was an invisible enemy nobody was able to beat this year. The FIA European Drag Racing Championship was cancelled and the Vegter Pro Mod Racing ’67 Chevrolet Camaro  stayed in the workshop. “We were more than ready for it. During the first couple of months we updated the car and we had high expectations for the new season. But unfortunately, there wasn’t a new season. Because we can’t do it at the race track and we still want to show the fans at least something this year, we are revealing the new design and new colours of our team in this way,” said David Vegter, driver of the Vegter Pro Mod Racing Camaro.
