Antti Horto (Top Fuel), Dennis Habermann (Top Methanol), Michael Gullqvist (Pro Modified) and Bengt Ljungdahl (Pro Stock) claimed the number one qualifying positions at The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway and will lead their respective categories into Monday’s eliminations at the opening round of the 2018 FIA European Drag Racing Championship. Antti Horto raced to the number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for The Main Event, the first race of the 2018 FIA European Drag Racing Championship. In Pro Modified reigning champion Michael Gullqvist stormed to a stunning 5.86 seconds to take the lead after two qualifying runs. Good number of participants in Summit Racing Super Series at Gardermoen
Spring Nats at Gardermoen started up the 2018 drag racing-season in Norway. A great event that offered some 13 qualification rounds before eliminations. The track was excellent, for some maybe a bit too good, but in all everyone was very satisfied with the very good track.
The EDRS Members Memorial at Malmö Raceway offered a fantastic race weekend
The sun was shining over the Malmö dragstrip as well this weekend. About 80 teams had gathered at Malmö Raceway to fight for points in the Summit Racing EDRS Series and to get to the Super Series finals at Tierp Arena later this year. Stefan Jansson took that place for Super Pro ET and Richard Falkenberg snatched the one for Pro ET.
A sunny Spring Nats at Tallhed is completed
Spring Nats, Orsa, was more like a Summer Nats. Lovely sunny weather, happy racers and a great track crew that made a superb race weekend. Maybe some racers were a bit rusty as it was one of the first races of the season but now everything will get even better.
A great racingweekend at Motopark Finland
When elimination rounds go further other junior drivers are interested and cheer for their mate racers.
The racing sun have been shining all over Skandinavia this weekend. First race of Finnish Championship Serie was held in Motopark raceway in good mood and very nice weather conditions.
A great start of the 2018 season at Vårgårda Raceway
The 2018drag racing season couldn’t have started better for the EDRS series. Good weather, 80 racers showing up and tremendous traction on the Vårgårda Raceway eight mile drag strip.
The Main Event, the lights turn green again for a challenging 2018 FIA European Drag Racing Championship
Only one week to go and the 2018 FIA European Drag Racing Championship kicks off with The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway. After a long winter, drivers, teams and fans are looking forward to the start of the new season where everybody has to start from zero again. And at The Main Event that zero has more than one meaning. All teams can forget their gathered Santa Pod data as they will have to find a new set-up for a brand new state-of-the-art all concrete racetrack! In all four categories the 2017 champions will defend their hard fought titles, but will once again meet tough competition as in all classes last year’s top contenders are back for more.
