As a result of his excellent performance at the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals, David Vegter moved up to the second position in the FIA European Pro Modified Championship. At Tierp Arena, Sweden, the Dutch driver won his elimination rounds in the most competitive class of the FIA European Championship and advanced to the semifinals. With two races left, the gap to the leader in the standings is still a bridgeable 79 points.

Less than two weeks after the unfinished business at Tierp Arena, it’s time for the famous NitrOlympX at the Rico Anthes Quartermile of the HockenheimRing. Ida Zetterström (Top Fuel), Silvio Strauch (Top Methanol), Jan Ericsson (Pro Modified) and Jimmy Ålund (Pro Stock) are the current leaders, but it’s unlikely that all four drivers will still be leading their respective categories after the German round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship.

The Drag Finals at Gardermoen Raceway, September 8-10, will have an extra highlight with the final part of the Summit Racing Super Series. The shoot-out in the Pro ET and Super Pro ET classes was included in the programme of the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals at Tierp Arena. But when the curfew of 8 PM was there, the eliminations were not finished yet.

The Drag Finals at Gardermoen Raceway is the last race of the 2023 Summit Racing EDRS Series and the Norwegian Championships. So register now on dragracing.eu so you can make your last runs of the 2023 season and collect the last points for the 2023 championships.
After rain delays the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals comes to a halt

After a long two days of qualifying, the last thing the FIM-E fields needed to see when they woke up this morning was rain. Worried glances at various weather apps and rain radars were the order of the day while the Tierp Arena track crew worked hard to clean the racing surface and shutdown area. Mercifully the track was ready to go at 5:30pm local time, but with a notional curfew of 8pm the racing would finish at the completion of the semi-finals in all classes.

The weather was not with the racers on race day during the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals at Tierp Arena. But in the end, all drivers and teams were happy that they could race at all, as eliminations started at 5 PM and when the curfew of 8 PM was there, Top Fuel, Top Methanol and Pro Stock had completed their semifinals and Pro Modified their quarterfinals. In Top Fuel Antti Horto and Timo Lehtimäki made the final an all Finnish affair, while in Pro Stock the two Swedes Jimmy Ålund and Stefan Ernryd would have had to race for the trophy. In Top Methanol Silvio Strauch would have been the winner as the driver from Germany had a bye run in the final.
