Lars Sjӧholm steps up to Pro Modified

After several years with all kinds of doorslammers, Lars Sjӧholm is ready for the next major step, Pro Modified. The 2024 Summit Racing EDRS Series Top Doorslammer champion found a new challenge in a well-known Chevrolet Camaro with a blower engine. Sjӧholm and his LSR Motorsport team will try to get familiar with the new combination in the EDRS Bilsport Pro Modified Series, to enter the FIA European Championship later this year.
Continue readingPro Dutch Racing full of ambition towards the new season

In a few weeks, the 2025 drag racing season kicks off for Pro Dutch Racing. After their first season with the new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, that went even better than expected for Michel Tooren and his team, the ambitions for 2025 are even higher. The main programme is once again the FIA European Pro Modified Championship, but Pro Dutch Racing will also compete in the Motorsport UK Pro Modified Championship. This makes it a busy season that kicks off in the Easter weekend from 18 to 20 April when the first round of the British title fight starts at Santa Pod Raceway with the Festival of Power.
Continue readingRace Winning Brands Europe and Vegter Pro Mod Racing extend partnership

Race Winning Brands Europe will also be a partner of Vegter Pro Mod Racing for the next two seasons. The partnership between the Nieuw-Vennep-based market leader in performance parts for cars and motorcycles and the leading team in the Pro Modified class of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship was so successful and both parties were so pleased, that an agreement was concluded for a period of two years with an option for the period after that. “We are proud to be representing Race Winning Brands Europe for the coming seasons and are looking forward to an even more intensive cooperation,” said David Vegter and Elin Lindegren, the driving forces behind Vegter Pro Mod Racing.
Continue readingJere Rantaniemi at the right moment into the number one position

Although being one of the frontrunners all season long, there was not a single moment during the season that Jere Rantaniemi was leading the 2024 FIA European Pro Modified Championship. But at the most decisive and most important moment of the season, the semifinals of the European Finals, Rantaniemi was there. The Finn won his elimination round, took over the number one position in the points standings and claimed his first FIA European Pro Modified title. Timing is everything.
Continue readingDavid Vegter runner-up in FIA European Pro Modified Championship

David Vegter finished the 2024 season with a more than excellent second position in the FIA European Pro Modified Championship. With around twenty participants per race, participants from ten different countries and 36 drivers who scored points this year, Pro Modified is the most competitive and most international class of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. But still, there were mixed feelings for Vegter and his team Vegter Pro Mod Racing. In almost all races, the Dutchman was the quickest driver on the track, led the championship for a long time, but missed the title by a minimal margin because bad luck struck at the most decisive moment of the season.
Continue readingPro Mod racer Kim Kristiansen back on track

Kim Kristiansen was a regular contender of the FIA European Pro Modified Championship, until the coronavirus pandemic forced him to take a break. That period of not racing was extended with another few years, but now he will be back. After almost eight months of hard work by Joeri Woudenberg in the Netherlands to update the famous Pontiac Firebird ‘68, the man from Denmark will make his comeback at Tierp Arena.
Continue readingDavid Vegter takes the lead in the FIA European Pro Modified Championship

With a runner-up finish at the SpeedEvents Internationals, David Vegter took the lead in the FIA European Pro Modified Championship. At the opening race of the season in England, Vegter claimed the first qualifying position. With the Vegter Pro Mod Racing ’67 Camaro, the Dutchman repeated this feat at round two in Sweden. In this race at Tierp Arena, Vegter advanced to the final by defeating his closest competitor in the title race. The runner-up position was enough to take the lead in the standings of this prestigious championship with a 35-point advantage over the number two.
Continue readingVegter Pro Mod Racing are ready for the new season

After months of preparation, the time has finally come. The Vegter Pro Mod Racing ’67 Camaro can leave the workshop for the first runs of the season. With several technical updates and a fresh look, David Vegter and his team travel to Santa Pod Raceway for The Main Event, May 25 to 27. In preparation for this first round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship, Vegter will first take part in next weekend’s The Doorslammers at the same English track.
Continue readingJean Dulamon treats himself to a double championship tour

Living in the very south of France, Jean Dulamon is probably the driver who has to travel the most miles of all competitors to attend races. This season the Frenchman might reset records as he will complete a double programme, the Motorsport UK Pro Modified Championship and, for the first time, the full FIA European Pro Modified Championship tour.
Continue readingAndres Arnover well prepared for FIA European Pro Modified title race

Without a doubt, Andres Arnover is the Pro Mod driver with the most runs to his credit so far this season when the FIA European Drag Racing Championship kicks off with The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway. And next to the most runs, the driver from Estonia also recorded the fastest and quickest runs so far and was consistent as well. After two consecutive number three positions in the FIA European Pro Modified Championship, there is more to come.
