A mixed Summit attempt for Team Brothers

The Swedish summer usually means sun, long days and plenty of fika, this wasn’t quite the experience of Team Brothers at the recent Summit Equipment Internationals at Tierp Arena just north of Stockholm. The trip didn’t get off to the best of notes with Margot and Stefan Schmidt (FIM-E Super Street Bike) stranded on the roadside with a wounded transporter. Once they arrived at the track and met up with team mate Eric Richard (FIM-E Top Fuel Bike) things didn’t progress as planned. Catching up with Margot after the meeting:

Golden comeback Voodoo Hemi Racing at Santa Pod

After a sabbatical Marck Harteveld and his team Voodoo Hemi Racing are back on track and all competitors will know right now. During The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway, the opening round of the FIA European Pro Modified Championship, Harteveld immediately claimed the number one qualifying position with 5.871 seconds! In the first round of eliminations Harteveld reset his personal best with the Voodoo Hemi Racing ’70 Plymouth Superbird to 5.859 seconds and advanced to the semifinals with a win in the quarter finals. With a great chance for Harteveld to claim a place in the final, the race had to be stopped due to rain. With the points gained at Santa Pod, Harteveld is the proud leader of the FIA European Pro Modified Championship.

Speedy’s short times bode well for Christiansen

Lipponen sees the positives after FIM-E Super Twin opener

After a frame up overhaul of his blown OHC V-Twin, Vesa “First into the Fives” Lipponen spent a lot of the recent Main Event weekend thrashing to get the bike to the line let alone putting in a competitive appearance at the FIM-E Super Twin championship opener. In the end, a rolling double digit qualifier got the Finn into eliminations but a puff of exhaust smoke ended his day. Despite these setbacks, Vesa is confident the team have a handle on what went wrong.
