American Lifestyle team look for the right direction

To say the first half of the FIM-E season has been a frustrating one for the Belgium American Lifestyle Super Twin team would be something of an understatement. Struggles at the rained off Main Event were then followed a surprising DNQ in Sweden at the start of August when the bike refused to stay straight. However, team principal and rider Chris van Nimmen still sees the positives:

“Over the race weekend in Tierp we found that the bike went down on the right side and slid the front wheel over to the left of the track. So our first job when we got back home was to change the exhaust system, one left and one right side, to help with the balance. I did also a check of pistons and wrist pins, cylinders and valves and looks all perfect.

We now also use the strong rocker arms of Speedy’s Performance and picked up some parts for a spare Bentec gearbox from Per Bengtsson.

We hope now to make some progress in our runs and be ready for the NitrOlympX. See you all there!”

The Hockenheimring proved to be a breakthrough venue for van Nimmen last season when he knocked a chunk off his personal best with a 6.656 which ultimately pointed him into third place in the FIM-E championship. A repeat dose this year would be very welcome indeed.
