Vesa Lipponen, Tommy Lee Grimes, Mathias Bohlin and Kalle Lyrén number one qualifiers at Tierp Arena

Vesa Lipponen (Top Fuel Motorcycle), Tommy Lee Grimes (Super Twin Motorcycle), Kalle Lyrén (Pro Stock Motorcycle) and Mathias Bohlin (Super Street Bike) claimed the number one qualifying positions at the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals at Tierp Arena and will lead their respective categories into Sunday’s eliminations at the fourth and final round of the 2019 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship.

It was a great day of racing with perfect weather and track conditions at Tierp Arena for the second day of qualifying for the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals. In three categories the Friday’s leaders also finished day two in the number one position, but still there were many improvements and many great runs.

In Top Fuel Motorcycle Vesa Lipponen used the last run to record 6.49 seconds to jump into the lead, with Jan Sturla Hegre (6.59 seconds) in second position. Thomas Pettersson suffered some engine damage and dropped into the third position, with Peter Andersson fourth.

In Super Twin Motorcycle Tommy Lee Grimes couldn’t improve on his Friday performance, but the 6.31 seconds was enough to remain the number one qualifier.

Harri Piensalmi stunned with a great 6.37 seconds personal best to jump into the number two position, with Samu Kemppainen (6.49 seconds) third. Roman Sixta improved to 6.61 seconds, but remained in fourth position, with Greger Johansson fifth and Torsti Kettula sixth.

In Super Street Bike Mathias Bohlin remained the number one qualifier with 7.01 seconds. Ida Zetterström stormed to a stunning new personal best of 7.02 seconds, but remained in second position.

There were some major problems for Vesa Ruhanen. The championship leader couldn’t improve on his earlier performance and finished qualifying in third position, with Anders Blanck fouth. Arvid Gerdtsson reset his personal best to 7.27 seconds to jump into the number five qualifying position.

In Pro Stock Motorcycle Friday leader Kalle Lyrén stormed to a great 6.95 seconds and remained in the number one position, with Kenneth Holmberg second.

Super Comp Bike and Super Gas Bike had their first round of eliminations on Saturday evening.

Eliminations for the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals will start tomorrow morning.
