Countdown – Summit Racing Super Series
The chase for $10 000, glory and trophies begin!
Report by Carl-Erik Kihlman
On May 11-12 (Friday-Saturday) it´s time for the first race in Summit Racing EDRS -series, but also the first qualification for the Summit Racing Super Series. It´s held at Vårgårda Raceway and it looks like it will be almost full 16-ladders in both Pro ET and Super Pro ET. Check the entry list (and later the results) online at www.dragracing.eu !
Vårgårda Raceway made their come-back four years ago after an updating of the track surface. In the mid 70´s it was one of the biggest track in Europe. Nowadays it´s a fast 1/8-mile track with a large pit-area.
Among the competitors, we can see the top 4 of last years final standing in Super Pro ET Summit Racing EDRS Series. Some updates for all of them, but Anders Back comes with his new Corvette this time.
The winner of Pro ET, Central Division 2017, Daniel Alfredsson has moved up to Super Pro ET and leaves the field open for the others, Anders Edin and Jonas Larsson for example. Both very experienced drivers in the dial-in classes.
The winners in each class are directly qualified for the shoot-out in Summit Racing Super Series at Tierp Arena August 24-27th (the FIA-championship race). There they will compete for the total price fund of $10 000 (in each class).
The weekend after Vårgårda, May 19-20th drivers can choose between four events in the Super Series qualification; Sweden (Malmö and Tallhed), Norway (Gardermoen) and Finland (Motopark). In Finland, just in Pro ET.
