Dennis Habermann defeats his brother to take over the #1

In a real ‘the winner takes it all’ semi-final Dennis Habermann claimed the 2018 FIA European Top Methanol Championship at the European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway. Being in the number two position behind leader and reigning champion Timo Habermann all season long, Dennis won that semi-final and took over the lead for the first time. Timo and Dennis Habermann to contest full 2018 FIA European Championship tour

From the Habermann brothers and eurodragster.com comes the news that German two-car Top Methanol Dragster team Werner Habermann Racing will contest all six rounds of the 2018 FIA European Top Methanol Championship. Timo Habermann will defend his 2017 FIA European Championship title, while last year’s runner-up Dennis Habermann will do his very best to beat his brother and get the number one back on his car. Dream big, that’s what Petteri Liimatainen and his family run team do for sure. Dennis Habermann wins, but hands title to Jonny Lagg

An all Habermann final is always close and the European Finals Top Methanol Dragster final was no exception as Dennis defeated his brother Timo on a hole shot to take the win. Because the Habermann brothers ran a part time programme this season, last year’s numbers one and two in the championship were no threat for championship leader Jonny Lagg. The Swede secured his first FIA European TMD title even before qualifying as his nearest rival, Chris Polidano, had to withdraw his entry. With the Maltese driver missing, Timo and Dennis Habermann ended the 2016 championship in second and third position. Continue reading

Chris Polidano maximizes at Tierp Internationals

With two entrants, there were not too many points to collect in Top Methanol Dragster at the Tierp Internationals. But Chris Polidano made the best of it and couldn’t have done any better, earning the bonus points for being quickest in every qualifying session, ending up as the number one qualifier, and winning the final. The 2014 FIA European TMD champion from Malta is also the new leader in the 2016 championship.  Continue reading

Jonny Lagg in personal best to Main Event victory

Jonny Lagg reset his personal best in the final to take the Main Event win in Top Methanol Dragster. Lagg started the final as the underdog against 2014 FIA European champion Chris Polidano, as the Maltese driver recorded a stunning 5.29 seconds in the semi-final. But when the moment arrived, Polidano’s motor caused problems and so Lagg had a bye run to the podium. Continue reading
