Antti Horto, Daniel Jedborn, Mats Eriksson and Jimmy Ålund number one qualifiers at Tierp Arena

In his last run of the day Antti Horto stormed to the lead in Top Fuel qualifying for the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals at Tierp Arena, round two of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. In Top Methanol, Pro Modified and Pro Stock there were also numerous improvements, but Friday leaders Daniel Jedborn (Top Methanol), Mats Eriksson (Pro Modified) and Jimmy Ålund (Pro Stock) remained the number one qualifiers and will lead their respective categories into Sunday’s eliminations.

FIM-E Dragbike championship, Summit Racing Internationals, Friday, Tierp Arena, Sweden

A warm day at what was proving to be a tricky track for the opening day of FIM-E qualifying at the Summit Racing Internationals saw some solid if not record breaking runs as the racing collective came to terms with a surface that was causing some headaches beyond the 60 foot mark. A brief daily synopsis (as for some reason the qualifying sheets have vanished from their usual place, hopefully they will reappear before too long!) follows.

Competition Eliminator, Pro Street and Stock Super Stock kick off EDRS Pro Cars qualifying at Tierp Arena

Competition Eliminator, Pro Street and Stock Super Stock kicked off qualifying in EDRS Pro Cars at the Summit Racing Equipment International at Tierp Arena. Gideon Liljegren is the leader after the first day in Competition Eliminator, while Christer Åberg took the provisional number one spot in Pro Street. In Stock Super Stock Timo Eronen is the number one qualifier after four runs.

Sverre Dahl, Ismo Mäenpää, Kalle Lyrén and Kenneth S. Laget winners at Gardermoen Drag Challenge

Sverre Dahl from Norway raced to victory in Top Fuel Motorcycle at the Drag Challenge at Gardermoen Raceway, the second round of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. In Super Twin Motorcycle Ismo Mäenpää recorded great numbers and won the final from the number one qualifying position. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Kalle Lyrén was in a class of his own and took the win, while in Super Street Bike Kenneth S. Laget claimed the victory after number one qualifier Anders Blanck ran into problems in the final.

FIA European Drag Racing Championship returns to action at Tierp Arena

The FIA European Drag Racing Championship kicks off the second part of the season with the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals at Tierp Arena, Sweden. After the opening round at Santa Pod Raceway it was quiet for a while, but with three races in the span of four weeks, the drivers and teams of the most prestigious drag racing championship in Europe will have no time to relax. Antti Horto (Top Fuel), Sandro Bellio (Top Methanol) and Jan Ericsson (Pro Modified) were the winners in England and are the leaders in their respective categories. At Tierp Arena the frontrunners will meet even tougher competition then they had at Santa Pod, and they will have to perform at their very best to remain their leading positions.

David Vegter in season best ET to semi-finals at EDRS Sweden Nationals

After claiming the runner-up position at The Main Event, David Vegter continued his impressive start of the season with a semi-final finish and best ET of the season at the EDRS Sweden Nationals at Tierp Arena. The Dutchman’s 5.847 seconds was not far from his personal best. The EDRS Sweden Nationals  was round one of the Bilsport EDRS Pro Modified Series and Swedish Pro Modified Championship and with almost all of the Scandinavian top teams at present, the race had an extremely competitive line-up.
