FIM-E Champions Review – Alan Morrison Jnr – FIM-E Super Street Bike

At the start of 2024 a FIM-E Super Street Bike championship repeat for Alan Morrison Jnr looked a long shot, but bouncing back from an early exit at Santa Pod, wins and late round finishes in the remaining four rounds saw the title heading back to the South West of England in September for the second time.

Your second full season on the FIM-E tour and your second championship in a row, how does that feel?

“Amazing!!! Completing back-to-back Championships to match Rick [Stubbins] is awesome especially seems as it is my 2nd full tour.”

Did you think this was likely after the early exit at the Main Event in May?

“I was so disappointed to go out 1st round at the Main Event, it was a tough one to swallow when things are out of your control. I knew it would be difficult to try and gain points but all we could do is try our best and stay focused.”

Consistency seemed to come back after that, what was your season highlight(s)?

“The bike is consistent, that’s what we have developed over the years. We are always trying new ideas and pushing boundaries etc but in the end due to the difficult track conditions we figured playing on side of caution would be the safest way to seal the championship for 2024. It has been a tricky season all round for me but my season highlight actually is seeing my Bro Ross Morrison hitting into the 6.70s and Dad Alan Morrison [who races at UK domestic level] so close to a 6 second pass.”

Plans for next year?

“We plan on continuing on following the European Tour again and with a few little upgrades over the winter hope to be able to push things a little harder.”

Sponsors/people to thank?

“Brad O’Connor @ BTC Moto for his electronic wizardry, Paul Furlong @ Furlong Tyres keeping us stuck to the track, James @ Jek Fabrications, all of the racers that helped at the track with little bits and bobs. I would like to thank my whole team @ Morrison Racing and a special thank you to my wife Shannon who plays a massive part in all of our racing, also a massive thank you to Rick Stubbins who has been by my side from day one to secure another title. I couldn’t have done it without his knowledge and support on and off the track.”

Now very much in the swing of understanding how to race for championships, and, with the continued expertise of Rick Stubbins propelling the Morrison Racing team forward, Alan Jnr and Ross are likely to be challenging at the sharp end again in 2025.
