A new name will be added to both sides of the Vegter Pro Mod Racing ’67 Camaro. PedalToTheMetal Musclecar Performance have joined David Vegter as his main sponsor for 2016. The successful and fast expanding company from Sneek can therefore be mentioned in the same breath with the at least as successful and fast Dutch Pro Modified team, frontrunners in the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. The team also announced that Adam Flamholc will be tuning the ’67 Camaro this season. Vegter made his first test run of the 2016 season last weekend at Malmö Raceway and was the quickest and fastest combination of all teams that attended the two day test.

PedalToTheMetal Musclecar Performance (www.pedaltothemetal.nl) are an all-round speedshop, with a specialization in classic American cars, trucks and bikes. PTTM buy and sell, repair, restore and paint, have numerous different parts, including driveline components, and have all the know-how of American muscle car engines. It’s only three years ago that the company moved to a new location in Joure, but as PTTM expanded so quickly, PTTM moved again last January to a much bigger and state-of-the-art shop in Sneek. In the new facility PTTM have their garage, body shop, restoration shop, parts store and showroom under one roof. “PTTM’s activities match perfectly with the Pro Modified class, the fastest doorslammers on earth and the class in which David Vegter is racing. We have our own drag race team, but lack of time forced us to put the racing activities on hold. By teaming up with Vegter Pro Mod Racing, PTTM stay in close contact with the world’s fastest motorsport and its technology and know-how,” said the PTTM spokesman.

Main sponsor PTTM Musclecar Performance join the companies Playboy Energy Drink, Sonic Equipment, WVB Holland and HKR Techniek that Vegter Pro Mod Racing presented earlier this year as their 2016 partners. “I’m very happy with this package. I’m sure it’s going to be a great season and that all our sponsors will get plenty of exposure. I’m sorry that we had to part ways with Post & Dros Racing Engines & Parts, and I would like to thank them for our long and successful cooperation,”  said Vegter.

Vegter Pro Mod Racing have more breaking news as Adam Flamholc will be the team’s tuner for this year. The Swede not only has a long track record as a driver, but also as a tuner. Last year Mats Eriksson and Thomas Stiefel both improved on their performance thanks to Adam’s tuning advice and this year Vegter will join the Swedish and Swiss racer. Their first on track test was a great success. Last weekend Vegter travelled to Malmö Raceway for his first test session of the year. In his one and only 1/8 mile full pass Vegter’s elapsed time was 3.978 seconds at 306.9 km/h, and that made the Dutchman the fastest and quickest driver of the weekend. “I’m very happy with the opportunity to work with Adam. This deal also makes it possible to have another, more powerful blower,” said a very happy Vegter Pro Mod Racing driver.

Vegter will do the full FIA European Championship tour again in 2016. The first race of this high rated championship will be at Santa Pod at the end of May. With more than twenty cars already entered, it looks like Pro Modified will again be the most competitive and spectacular category of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship.
