The 2018 Summit Racing EDRS Series Banquet is getting closer. A lot is going on during the evening. And we start the afternoon with some informations of the past and the future of our sport and actions.
In the next couple of weeks we will pay attention to the 2018 FIA European Drag Racing and EDRS Pro Nordic MC champions. We kick off with Bengt Ljungdahl, the only reigning FIA European champion who was able to extend his title with another number one spot. But after two races in the season, the Swede was in third spot, 61 points behind the leader and another title seemed to be far away. Continue reading

Among these stories there is occasionally one that stands out a little higher than the rest. Robin Norén’s is one such story. When I first met Robin and his team, they were attending the Main Event at Santa Pod in 2017. Travelling in a converted removals truck which I think is older than Robin, the team made an immediate impression on me. As we got to know them better, we realised that this was a team driven by a love of racing, a love of engineering and a competitive spirit that could not be diminished. Continue reading

Barely recovered from the record setting fifth round of the title race in Sweden, the 2018 FIA European Drag Racing Championship goes down to the wire with the European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway. In three categories at least two drivers can still claim the title, so the sixth and final race of the season is one to look forward to. In Top Fuel Anita Mäkelä extended her lead over Antti Horto with a win at Tierp Arena. In Pro Stock Bengt Ljungdahl is the leader, but Stefan Ernryd is in striking distance. Jimmy Ålund is the 2018 FIA European Pro Modified champion after the Swede ousted Michael Gullqvist from the first position with a runner-up finish at Tierp and the 2017 champion decided to withdraw his entry from the Euro Finals. In Top Methanol Timo and Dennis Habermann are separated by only 15 points and so the title race might be decided in the final run of the year. Continue reading
