Speedgroup renews contract with NMC
On Saturday October 10th Speedgroup renewed the contract with the Nordic Motorsport Council (NMC) to operate and promote the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship, the official Nordic drag bike championship, for another two years, 2016-2017. The classes Pro Stock Motorcycle, Super Twin Motorcycle, Super Street Bike and Top Fuel Motorcycle are again included in the championship, but new to the championship are Super Gas Bike and Super Comp Bike.
Speedgroup board member Roger Lyrén, who is also involved in Speedgroups work with the championship, was on site in Copenhagen to present the NMC an insight to how Speedgroup have worked with the championship 2015 and initial development plans for the new contract period.
The championship is operated under the title EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship and has been granted status as an official Nordic Championship by the motorcycle sports federations of Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. All four federations were represented in Copenhagen. The Championship is open for participants from any nation. In 2015 the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship included four events, two in Sweden, one in Finland and one in Norway. The plan is to stick to that also in 2016.
New for 2016 is that Super Gas Bike and Super Comp Bike will also be included in the contract and handled by Speedgroup. The other classes in the championship are Pro Stock Motorcycle, Super Twin Motorcycle, Super Street Bike and Top Fuel Motorcycle.
Speedgroup is pleased to have been able to fulfil the commitments to NMC in a way that they choose to renew the contract. The planning for the season 2016 is well on its way and the calendar will be confirmed soon.
