Summit Racing Equipment has joined the EDRS Speedgroup contingency program for 2016. The program is in effect for five races in the EDRS car classes. The winner of each Sportsman class will get a $200 USD Summit Racing gift certificate, and the runner-up will get a $100 USD certificate. The only condition is that the cars must have Summit Racing decals on both sides of the car. No previous purchase is needed.

“We want to support racers that support us”, said Jim Greenleaf, Motorsports and Event manager of Summit Racing Equipment. “Last year we started a Sportsman contingency program in Australia and it was a great success. Now it’s time to introduce it in Europe. I got in contact with Speedgroup after I met Jimmy Ålund at Ken Black Racing. We made a sponsorship deal for Jimmy in Europe and started talking about a contingency program with Speedgroup. Now it’s a reality and we’re very excited about it.”

Summit Racing Equipment was founded in 1968 as a part-time business by a drag racer frustrated by the lack of speed shops in the northeast part of the U.S. state of Ohio. Now the largest retailer of racing and performance products in the world, Summit Racing has followed a simple business formula: Give customers the parts they want at a fair price, deliver those parts fast, and back them with the best customer service on the planet. The company inventories millions of parts from over 1,400 manufacturers for everything from street performance to drag racing, street rods, circle track racing, and even off-roading.

“We have all parts a Sportsman racer can think of,” Jim explained. “With the iParcel service, we can let customers pay all of the delivery fees, taxes, and customs duties up front. That’s a big advantage for our overseas customers.” I was also surprised to hear from Jimmy how many American cars there are in Scandinavia,” Jim continued. “I hope it’s possible to fly over to Tierp Arena for the August race meeting.”
