A-Fuel Junior Team Sweden – Tindra and Isak race Top Methanol

A-Fuel Team Sweden, consisting of the two drag racing teams Bryntesson Motorsport and Jonny Lagg Racing, are expanding its effort in the Top Methanol class with a junior initiative, A-Fuel Junior Team Sweden. Two juniors, Tindra Christensen, 21 years old, and Isak Lagg, 26 years old, are now moving from 800 horsepower in the Super Pro ET class to 5,000 horsepower in what is the second fastest class in drag racing – Top Methanol.

“I’ve had Top Methanol as a goal for a long time,” said Tindra. “But without Tony’s help, it wouldn’t have been possible to take this step. Being part of this initiative, with Tony, Jonny, and their team, who have a wealth of experience, feels really good and safe.”

Tindra and Isak have competed with and against each other in Super Pro ET over the past few years and know each other well.

“At our age, having access to all this expertise is rare, and I’m very grateful for this opportunity,” said Isak. “I’m also really happy to have Tindra on board. We know each other well from before, and she’s super professional and humble.”

It’s the two Top Methanol veterans in A-Fuel Team Sweden, Tony Bryntesson, who was second in the FIA European Championship last year, and Jonny Lagg, the reigning FIA European Champion, who are behind the youth initiative.

Tony Bryntesson after his FIA European Championship victory at Tierp Arena last year. Jonny Lagg came second.

“Jonny and I are no longer young, even though we feel younger than we are, and we felt we needed to do something for the future of drag racing. The idea of expanding our team collaboration with two cars developed over the past year. I’ve been following Tindra for some time, and Jonny’s son, Isak, has been in our pit during the years he’s been driving Super Pro ET. Both have what it takes to make the step up to Top Methanol.”

Last year, Tindra and Isak had the opportunity to borrow Tony’s and Jonny’s dragsters at the Meguiar’s Drag Festival at Mantorp Park to obtain their licenses. This year, they won’t need to borrow dragsters. Bryntesson Motorsport has acquired an A-Fuel dragster for Tindra, which is on its way home from the USA, and Isak is in the process of assembling his dragster together with his team and his father Jonny. The debut for A-Fuel Junior Team Sweden will be at the Meguiar’s Drag Festival at Mantorp Park from July 24-27.

“Then we aim for Tindra and Isak to race one or two FIA European Championship events this year. Jonny and I will race the full FIA European Championship season this year, and the goal for next year is for Tindra and Isak to also race the full FIA European Championship season.”
