Gustafsson and Christiansen improve, Lencses takes top spot and Lymant holds on at the Summit

The second day of qualifying at the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals, Tierp Arena, Sweden, had some movers and shakers across the FIM-E classes and with the fields now set we head into eliminations tomorrow (Sunday).

Rikard Gustafsson lowered his class leading number from yesterday with a PB elapsed time of 5.7315/253.41 to head the FIM-E Top Fuel Bike field although some swarf in the oil on a subsequent 5.8 has necessitated an engine change ahead of eliminations tomorrow. As prefaced yesterday, Sverre Dahl is out of competition and Jan Sturla Hegre remains at three. Rene van den Berg improved to a 6.4534 but stays at four. Mike Olie PB’d with a 6.6393 from his Kawasaki Funny Bike, Kari Rautanen steps up to sixth with a 6.8380 followed by Peter Andersson and Thomas Pettersson.

FIM-E Super Twin Bike still has Marcus Christiansen at its head, with the Dane improving to a 6.1109/227.48 (nudging ever closer to the quickest N/A mark). Behind him Erling Opheim stays at two with his six thirty from yesterday, Per Bengtsson nudged quicker with a 6.4013 (a quicker 6.3 being discounted after the finishline block was dislodged) and Samu Kemppainen improved with a 6.6292 despite torching a head on the first run today to complete the top half of the field. Son and father John and Svein Olav Rolfstad dropped in at five and six with a 6.6384 (PB) and 6.7384 respectively, Marko Lantto rounds out the six second runners with his 6.9 from yesterday while Roman Sixta sits on the bump with a 7.0294.

A bit of shuffle at the sharp end of the FIM-E Super Street Bike field sees Dániel Donát Lencsés take over at the top with a 6.7824/224.89 knocking Alan Morrison Jnr down a spot although the Brit had improved with a 6.8388. Lencsés team mate Krisztián Jász improved a shade with a 6.9273 but remains at three, while Morrison Jnr’s brother Ross drops in at four with a 6.9800 and Mogens Lund completes the six second runners with a 6.9996. The class will have an all run 13 bike ladder in eliminations.

Joerg Lymant held onto the lead in FIM-E Pro Stock Bike ahead of Bertrand Maurice and Timo Savolainen as per yesterday, while Janne Koskinen and Theodor Vik swapped fourth and fifth when the former improved to a 7.4269. These five will all run in eliminations tomorrow.
