De Haas looking to end the FIM-E Super Twin season on an upbeat note

Heading closer to home soil at this weekend’s NitrOlympX at the Hockenheimring, Germany, the Dutch Haas Brothers team reflected on the preceding two events in Sweden which didn’t exactly go to plan, but gave cause for a positive outlook for the rest of the FIM-E Super Twin season.

Rider Martijn de Haas observed “at the first event at Tierp in June we were struggling to find the right set up with our new cylinder heads [replacing those damaged at the Main Event at the start of the season], resulting in a lack of power. The second Tierp event a couple of weeks ago was a struggle for everyone, due to the weather conditions [rain figuring prominently for the second event in a row]. Furthermore we were also struggling with technical issues, such as a broken timer box and clutch bearing failures.” It wasn’t all doom and gloom “we did find the right way to move with our settings, and the power was back. However, during Sunday’s eliminations, a trigger happy rider caused the red light. Nevertheless we are looking forward to Hockenheim!”

Having ended last season resetting their PB marks with a 6.50, we wouldn’t be too surprised if that was lowered before the conclusion of 2023.
