Summit Racing Scandinavian Nationals ready to go
This weekend the FIA European Drag Racing Championship should have seen the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals, round four of the title race at Tierp Arena, Sweden. Due to the corona pandemic and travel restriction the first three rounds of Europe’s most prestigious drag racing championship had to be cancelled, with the result that in the end the 2021 FIA European Drag Racing Championship had to be called off. But still no fewer than 25 cars from three different FIA classes are at Tierp Arena this weekend to compete in the now called Summit Racing Scandinavian Nationals.
Although not an FIA European Championship race, the race weekend at Tierp Arena remained on the calendar as a race for the Summit Racing EDRS Series, Summit Racing Super Series, EDRS Pro Series and EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. As Pro Modified is one of the many categories in the EDRS programme, the now called Summit Racing Scandinavian Nationals is also a perfect opportunity for teams from the FIA European Championship to test their cars at a great track and under race conditions. Thus three cars from the Top Methanol category, five Pro Stock cars and no fewer than 17 Pro Mods from Sweden, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Estonia and France are gathered at Tierp Arena for testing and a fierce competition.
We will keep you updated at the end of each day with the results of testing, qualifying and eliminations in the categories where FIA cars are testing or competing in. Photo galleries will also be published at the end of each day.
