Rikard Gustafsson, Marcus Christiansen, Kalle Lyrén and Mathias Bohlin leaders after Friday qualifying at Tierp Internationals
Rikard Gustafsson stormed to a great 5.90 seconds to claim the number one qualifying position in Top Fuel Motorcycle at the first day of qualifying for the Tierp Internationals, the season-opening round of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. In Super Twin Motorcycle reigning champion Marcus Christiansen claimed the number one qualifying position, while in Super Street Bike Mathias Bohlin stormed to a stunning 6.95 seconds to lead his category after two runs. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Kalle Lyrén is the leader after Friday qualifying.
Warm weather conditions at the first day of qualifying for the Tierp Internationals, round one of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship at the state-of-the-art drag racing facility of Tierp Arena.
Rikard Gustafsson stormed to a great 5.90 seconds to claim the number one qualifying position in Top Fuel Motorcycle, with Filippos Papafillippou in second position with 5.93 seconds. These two riders were in a class of their own as Thomas Pettersson recorded 6.57 seconds to claim the number three position.
In Super Twin Motorcycle reigning champion Marcus Christiansen only needed one run to take the lead as the Danish rider recorded a great 6.42 seconds in his first run. Former champion Tommy Grimes was the number two qualifier with 6.69 seconds, while Samu Kemppainen was third with 6.74 seconds. No fewer than seven riders recorded a 6-second run on the first day of qualifying.
In Super Street Bike reigning champion Mathias Bohlin stormed to a great 6.95 seconds with Ida Zetterström in a new personal best of 7.11 seconds in second position. Bjorn Friström is the number three qualifier with Anders Blanck in fourth position.
In Pro Stock Motorcycle Kalle Lyrén claimed the number one spot with 7.040 seconds, but Fredrik Fredlund is close behind with 7.043 seconds. Janne Koskinen is in third position, but the young Finnish rider crashed and although he was unhurt, he will not be able to take part in the rest of the race.
In Super Comp Bike Tomas Jonsson is the leader with Per Olsen in second position. In Super Gas Bike Magnus Pollack is the leader with Bo Sørensen in second position.
Qualifying for the Tierp Inernationals continues Saturday.
