And so Anita M\u00e4kel\u00e4 (Top Fuel), Mats Eriksson (Pro Modified), Jimmy Alund (Pro Stock), Timo Habermann (Top Methanol Dragster) and Leif Andreasson (Top Methanol Funny Car) will lead their respective categories into Sunday eliminations. But behind the number one qualifiers, there were many changes in the positions after a great day of qualifying at Santa Pod Raceway. And as in Top Fuel and Pro Modified the outcome of the championship is still completely open, tomorrow eliminations will be even more exciting.\u00a0<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>A still cold, but dry and sometimes even sunny day was a guarantee for many improvements and changes in positions on the second day of qualifying for the European Finals, the final round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod Raceway.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2829\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2829\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/makela_2_ef_q2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"322\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Anita M\u00e4kel\u00e4<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In Top Fuel, Friday leader Anita M\u00e4kel\u00e4 improved to 4.010 seconds to stay in the number one position. But in the same run in the other lane championship leader Micke K\u00e5gered stormed to 4.025 seconds to jump into the number two qualifying position.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2834\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2834\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/kagered_ef_q2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"350\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Micke K\u00e5gered<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As the difference in the championship is less than 20 points between leader K\u00e5gered and number two M\u00e4kel\u00e4, the decision in the championship can go down to the final run of eliminations. Liam Jones reset his personal best to 4.05 seconds and is number three qualifier, while Urs Erbacher will start eliminations from fourth position.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2826\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2826\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/jones_ef_q2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Liam Jones<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2823\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2823\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/eriksson_ef_q2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"361\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mats Eriksson<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In Pro Modfied Friday leader Mats Eriksson improved to 5.929 seconds to reset his personal best and stay in the number one qualifying position. Bruno Bader was the second driver to break the 6-second barrier with 5.97 seconds and will start eliminations from second position.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2833\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2833\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/bader_ef_q2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"327\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bruno Bader<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Also a big improvement for Roger Johansson and with 6.04 seconds the Swede is the new number three. Michael Gullqvist, the leader in the championship before the European Finals, had to wait until the fourth and final run to step up to his normal performance. With 6.05 seconds Gullqvist jumped into the number four qualifying position, with Thomas Stiefel, Friday\u2019s number three, in fifth. With the points he earned in qualifying, Eriksson is the new leader, but Gullqvist is very close behind.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2825\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2825\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/johansson_ef_q2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Roger Johansson<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2831\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2831\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/alund_ef_q2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jimmy Alund<\/p><\/div>\n<p>There was also an improvement for Jimmy Alund, the number one qualifier in Pro Stock. The multiple champion improved to 6.52 seconds. Michael Malmgren and Thomas Lindstr\u00f6m, the number two and three qualifiers after day one, stayed in their positions, but with 6.61 and 6.63 seconds both drivers improved on their Friday performance.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2830\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2830\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/malmgren_ef_q2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"342\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Michael Malmgren<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Leader in the championship is Lindstr\u00f6m, but with his qualifying performance, Alund made up some points and still has a change to win the title.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2827\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2827\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/lindstrom_ef_q2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"353\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Thomas Lindstr\u00f6m<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2824\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2824\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/habermann_ef_q2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Timo and Dennis Habermann<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In Top Methanol Dragster Friday leader Timo Habermann was the only top three driver to improve on his first day performance. The number two in the championship improved to 5.28 seconds. His brother, and championship leader Dennis Habermann, stayed in the number two position with Dave Wilson in third.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2832\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2832\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/andreasson_ef_q2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"358\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Leif Andreasson<\/p><\/div>\n<p>There were no changes at all in Top Methanol Funny Car and so Leif Andreasson stayed in the number one qualifying position, with Stephanie Milam is second position.
