Not only did the nine time European champion qualify in an uncharacteristically low fourth place, he was eliminated in round one. \u00a0When Pro Stock turns cruel, it turns really cruel.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0The rest of the top four in the championship suffered mixed fortunes, Michael Malmgren was also eliminated in round one, whilst Thomas Lindstr\u00f6m went out in the semis. Magnus Petersson made it to another final, but the glory of the weekend went to Richard \u201cNixxon\u201d Sundblom who won at his home track in his first event of the year.\u00a0<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\nThe number one qualifier in round one was Hannu Kalliom\u00e4ki in a Jerry Bickel built Pontiac GXP which was previously campaigned by Greg Stanfield in NHRA. This is a first competitive outing for this car and it delivered a none too shabby 6.79 run to take the top spot.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2286\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2286\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/kalliomaki2_alastaro_rr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hannu Kalliom\u00e4ki<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Second place, with almost the exact same time was Jan Ericsson with a PB in competition. Struggling to get to grips with the extremely hot weather conditions were Magnus, Jimmy and Michael, none of whom delivered representative numbers. In the middle, the remaining cars ran in between 6.79 and 7.4. Obviously the heat was going to be something that would affect the qualifiers more than they may have considered.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2296\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2296\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/ericsson_alastaro_rr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"327\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jan Ericsson<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In Q2 Sundblom re set the number one time and stayed there for the remainder of the qualifying runs gradually improving and always staying number one.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2295\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2295\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/alund_alastaro_rr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"359\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jimmy \u00c5lund<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Second and third places were traded throughout qualifying between Ericsson, Malmgren, \u00c5lund and Kalliom\u00e4ki. With the final top two being Sundblom and Kalliom\u00e4ki.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2293\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2293\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/sundblom_1_alastaro_rr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Richard Sundblom<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Summary Eliminations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First round:<\/p>\n<p>Richard Sundblom defeated Simon Gustaffson in round one as Richards famous top end speed and power simply defeated the Samantha racing entry.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2297\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2297\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/ericsson_alund_alastaro_rr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jan Ericsson<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Jan Ericsson\u2019s good weekend continued as he added the scalp of none other than Jimmy \u00c5lund in his first competition round win as \u00c5lund continued to struggle with the conditions and hit tyre shake, whilst Ericsson drove through the traps in a representative 6.8.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2287\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2287\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/kalliomaki3_alastaro_rr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"357\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hannu Kalliom\u00e4ki<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Hannu Kalliom\u00e4ki was unable to find his qualifying speed and hit some shake as in the lane beside him Magnus Petersson hit a 0.05 light and drove through in 6.7 to take the win.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2288\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2288\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/malmgren_alastaro_rr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"349\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Michael Malmgren<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Michael Malmgren gifted the round one win to Thomas Lindstr\u00f6m with a 0.01 red light which was a shame as the race would have gone his way as he ran a 6.73 alongside Lindstr\u00f6m\u2019s 7.76<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edrspro.com\/?attachment_id=2294\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-nsm-1-2294\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fiaedc.edrspro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/sundblom_2_alastaro_rr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"355\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Richard Sundblom<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Semi-finals<\/p>\n<p>Richard Sundblom dodged a bullet against Jan Ericsson as Nixxon ran 18 seconds, but Ericsson failed to record a time.
