The collaboration between Bryntesson Motorsport and Albinsson & Sj\u00f6berg’s magazine Bilsport continues after both parties have extended their partnership agreement. Tony Bryntesson’s Top Methanol dragster with 5,000 horsepower will continue to race under the name Bilsport-dragstern, a name now well-known throughout drag racing Europe.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u201cBilsport-dragstern has become a term even abroad, which says a lot about the impact drag racing has,\u201d said Tony. \u201cThe magazine Bilsport has, and has had, an enormous significance for Swedish motorsport and car culture, and it feels an honour that we can represent the magazine through our drag racing competitions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Albinsson & Sj\u00f6berg, which also have a large event business, and Bryntesson Motorsport have had a long relationship that dates back to the time when the Custom Motor Show at the ELMIA fair was established in the early 1980s in J\u00f6nk\u00f6ping. Over the past two years, the fair has set audience records with attendance numbers approaching 100,000 visitors, which shows that interest in motorsport, custom car and motorcycle builds remains strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTony and his team represent what our publishing company’s work is about: passion, car culture, and an incredible drive,\u201d said Stig L. Sj\u00f6berg, one of the founders and owners of Albinsson & Sj\u00f6berg. \u201cWe have had a very good relationship over the years where we have helped and supported each other through thick and thin, and the fact that we can continue the collaboration feels both natural and obvious.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As in previous years, Bryntesson Motorsport will attend the publisher’s various events with its Bilsport-dragster throughout the year. From April 18-21, Bryntesson Motorsport will exhibit alongside A-Fuel Team Sweden at the Custom Motor Show, and on May 17, it will be time for En Dag p\u00e5 Strippen in Emmaboda, an event this year extended by a day to make space for Muscle Cars at the Strip on May 18. Then, from July 24-27, serious drag racing will take place when Meguiar’s Drag Festival is held at the publisher’s own track, Mantorp Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, Bryntesson Motorsport finished second in the FIA European Drag Racing Championship, Top Methanol class. This year, their sights are set on winning the FIA European Championship title, and it will be a full FIA European Championship season for the J\u00f6nk\u00f6ping team once again. Four races are on the schedule according to the FIA’s 2025 European Championship calendar:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
