Main partner for the team will be Bro Joe Brain-Boosting Coffee, an instant coffee blend designed to increase focus, clarity, and mental resilience.

It’s not for the first time Liam Jones and Alex Hope will form a team in the two most prestigious drag racing championships in Europe. Hope was a frontrunner in the Pro Stock Motorcycle (2018) and Super Street Bike (2019) class, while Jones was one of the men to beat in Top Fuel in both years. The two Brits flew the flag for TFJ Motorsport/Hope Racing and CBD Asylum. The covid pandemic made an early end to the team’s racing activities.

But in 2025 Jones and Hope will be back in action and will team up again under the team name “Fuelled By Bro Joe”. Jones will make his comeback in the Top Fuel class of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship, while Hope is back in the saddle of a Pro Stock Motorcycle in the FIM Europe European Drag Bike Championship. Like before the break, Jones Top Fuel Dragster will be run from Rune Fjeld’s RF Motorsport stable. Hope will run a Kosman chassis with a 1755cc Vance & Hines engine, tuned and maintained by himself and of course, his father Chris.

The name “Fuelled By Bro Joe”, refers to the main partner of the team. “Bro Joe is our new flagship product and performance side of our business, a Brain-Boosting Coffee Blend designed to increase focus, clarity, and mental resilience. It’s an instant coffee blend that you replace your normal coffee with but has loads of brain boosting ingredients in to help you cope and stay alert in stressful situations. The properties of this product fit really well with what you need in drag racing as well. That’s also why the major part of the marketing will be built around the team,” said Jones. “We’ll have secondary sponsors through our two other websites, cbdasylum.com and theshroomshop.co.uk- both health supplement sites, but we are also open to partnering with other businesses.”

Jones is looking forward to go racing again with Alex Hope. “A lot has happened for everyone in the last few years, and as Covid dwindled, my family grew- I have two more kids since racing last time so it’s been busy, expensive, and stressful! Alex and I have been best mates since being about 5 years old, and we’ve been in business together for many years, so it’s just natural we stay as a team. We work together, party together, and race together!”

To team up again with Rune Fjeld was also a no-brainer for Jones. “Yes, we’re excited to run from the RF Motorsport stable again. The whole setup suits me. Rune is a great guy who knows everything there is to know about making a Fueller go quick and consistent. We’re still amassing crew at the moment, although we have the fundamentals in place. Rune will do the tuning, and other team members include Maja, who is keen to get her hands dirty on the car and Carl Sims, who through being the cheeky, handsome, charismatic northern chap he is, is going to help extend our social media outreach at the track. Also, it’s a privilege to have the legend that is multiple time European Champion and Mr 300 himself, Barry Sheavills on board, who has offered to help out on the PR side. As already mentioned, Alex gets quite heavily involved with the maintenance and tuning of the bike, but it’s his dad, Chris Hope, who will be at the forefront of the campaign as crew chief for 2025.”

Jones and Hope plan to run the full FIA and FIM Championships. Jones will also do some test runs at the Festival of Power at Santa Pod, and possibly some exhibition runs / match races at Gardermoen in Norway and Mantorp Park in Sweden. If there are any more scheduled later on, then it will be published on the team’s social media.

Nobody enters a championship not to win at the end of the day, and that’s exactly how Jones looks at his new campaign. “I feel more focussed and determined than ever before, and I’ve had a decent amount of time to reflect on where I went right and wrong in my last campaign. This being said, I’m hoping there’s some stiff competition- all the drivers last year put in great performances and the championship came right down to the wire. Congratulations to Jndia and team on their championship win by the way! I’m hoping there’s a decent field to race against. I know I’ll be pitted with Susanne Callin in the other RFM car which I’m excited about- we had a great rapport last time we raced together and most importantly, had a right laugh, although she’s very well versed in Top Fuel now so I know I need to be on my A-game!

Jones is also looking forward to meet the fans again. “Without the huge encouragement, endless banter and love and support from everybody who I’ve spoken to on the bank, in the pits and in the bar over the last few years, I can honestly say I wouldn’t be doing this again. It means the world to me to be able to fly the flag in Top Fuel for you all again, so thank you- and don’t be a stranger!”

“Please support the squad by visiting our site, signing up to the website newsletters, and following us on our social media. Lastly, I’d like to thank Remco Scheelings personally for providing us with some great photos to help build our Bro Joe Brain-Boosting Coffee site.”

The design of the car and bike will be revealed soon.

Text: Liam Jones, Remco Scheelings
Photos: Remco Scheelings

Liam Jones and Alex Hope will be reunited in 2025, Fuelled By Bro Joe.
