In Top Methanol Tony Bryntesson won a quick and close final over Jonny Lagg, while Andreas Arthursson and Jimmy \u00c5lund claimed the win in Pro Modified and Pro Stock. With three winners from Sweden, the race was very successful for the organizing Scandinavian country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/horto_DSC_3862.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/horto_DSC_3862.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18025\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a great day of racing at Tierp Arena during the eliminations of the SpeedEvents Internationals, round two of the 2024 FIA European Drag Racing Championship. Sunshine, great temperatures and close racing in all four categories of the championship made it to an excellent day for the spectators, who will definitely come back in August when Tierp Arena is host to round three of the FIA European Championship as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/micallef_DSC_5301.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/micallef_DSC_5301.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18012\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In Top Fuel number one qualifier Duncan Micallef stormed to a stunning 3.797 seconds in the semi-finals to advance to the final. In the other semi-final Antti Horto defeated Susanne Callin with 4.01 seconds over 4.39 seconds for the local hero from Sweden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/tf_final_DSC_5208.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/tf_final_DSC_5208.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18017\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus the final was a match between a driver from Malta and Finland. In the final Horto stormed to a winning 4.03 seconds as Micallef suffered traction problems half-track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/vegter_DSC_4983.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/vegter_DSC_4983.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18020\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In Pro Modified number one qualifier David Vegter impressed once again. The Vegter Pro Mod Racing driver from the Netherland defeated Jan Br\u00e4nvall in 5.83 seconds, Fredrik Fagerstr\u00f6m in 5.88 seconds and his closest rival in the title race Jere Rantaniemi in an even better 5.81 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/arnover_DSC_4831.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/arnover_DSC_4831.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18022\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There was a major upset in round one when title favourite and number two qualifier Andres Arnover pulled a red light and was defeated by Micke Johansson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/arthursson_DSC_4848.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/arthursson_DSC_4848.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18023\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the final Vegter had to face Andreas Arthursson. The number three qualifier from Sweden was too quick for Olof Andersson, Michel Tooren and Marcus Perman. Arthursson impressed as well with a string of 5.86-second runs, proving his consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/PM_final_DSC_5192.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/PM_final_DSC_5192.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18013\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And that consistency paid off in the final. The driver from Sweden improved to a winning 5.85 seconds as Vegter had some technical issues and slowed down to 6.04 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/PM_podium_DSC_5294.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/PM_podium_DSC_5294.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18014\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In Top Methanol there was a major upset in round one when number one qualifier Sandro Bellio suffered severe tyreshake at the start line and was defeated by Jonny Lagg. After four aborted runs in qualifying, the Swede had finally solved his traction problems and stormed to a great and winning 5.31 seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/bryntesson_DSC_4475-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/bryntesson_DSC_4475-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18024\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the other semi-final Tony Bryntesson suffered traction problems as well, but his 9.8 seconds was enough to defeat Ari Pietil\u00e4. Thus in Top Methanol an all Swedish and all A-Fuel Team Sweden final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/TM_final_DSC_5176.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/TM_final_DSC_5176.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18018\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And what a final it was. Bryntesson stunned with a great 5.23 seconds to claim the win over an also impressive Lagg, who recorded 5.36 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/TM_final_DSC_5308.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/TM_final_DSC_5308.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18019\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/alund_DSC_4889.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/alund_DSC_4889.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18021\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In Pro Stock Jimmy \u00c5lund carried on from where he left off in qualifying. After defeating Stefan Ernryd in round one with 6.55 seconds, another 6.55 seconds was more than enough to defeat Simon Ekengren in the semi-final, who pulled a red light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/malmgren_DSC_4866.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/malmgren_DSC_4866.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18011\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the final \u00c5lund had to face Michael Malmgren. The reigning FIA European Pro Stock champion defeated Lasse Britsmar in round one with 6.68 seconds, to improve to an even better 6.63 seconds to beat Robin Nor\u00e9n in a very close semi-final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/PS_final_DSC_5196.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/PS_final_DSC_5196.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18015\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The final was decided immediately after the start as Malmgren suffered severe traction problem.
