And his opponents knew it, as \u00c5lund immediately claimed the title, his 11<sup>th<\/sup> FIA European Pro Stock Championship, and a Pro Modified title included, his 12<sup>th<\/sup> in total! The Summit Racing Camaro driver won three races and finished as the runner-up two times to claim the title with a 155-point advantage over Robin Nor\u00e9n. As the icing on the cake of a great 2019 season, \u00c5lund, European Pro Stock speed record holder since 2015, also claimed the European Pro Stock ET record back.<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After winning his 10<sup>th<\/sup> FIA European Pro Stock title in 2016, Jimmy \u00c5lund took a break from the demanding fulltime schedule of the FIA European Pro Stock Championship. In 2019 the Swede was back for the full 6-race FIA European Pro Stock tour, and as winning is in his DNA, all competitors knew they had an serious problem to deal with.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/fiaedc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/01\/alund.champ19.02.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17599\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/fiaedc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/01\/alund.champ19.02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/fiaedc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/01\/alund.champ19.02.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/fiaedc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/01\/alund.champ19.02-300x189.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00c5lund started the season in almost the best possible way. Although Michael Malmgren surprised with the number one qualifying position at The Main Event and the Tierp Internationals, \u00c5lund won both races after defeating Malmgren in the final twice. In Kauhava \u00c5lund was defeated by Simon Gustafsson in the semi-finals, but as most of the favourites had an early exit, he was still in the lead of the championship with a reasonable margin. At Hockenheim \u00c5lund bounced back with another win, his third of the season, taking a 125-point lead over Malmgren in the title race.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/fiaedc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/01\/alund.champ19.03.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17598\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/fiaedc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/01\/alund.champ19.03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/fiaedc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/01\/alund.champ19.03.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/fiaedc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/01\/alund.champ19.03-300x189.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals \u00c5lund was defeated in the final by Robin Nor\u00e9n, who improved his performance as the season progressed. But at Tierp Arena \u00c5lund claimed his European Pro Stock ET record back with a great 6.485 seconds, and with a 160-point lead over Malmgren, the title was secured with still one race to go. How do you look back at last season?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was great to be back behind the wheel for a full season of Pro Stock racing again. Last time that happened was in 2016.
