2015 EDRS Pro Nordic MC champions Samu Kemppainen, Robert Karlsson and Bj\u00f6rn Fristr\u00f6m<\/p><\/div>\n

Fredrik Fredlund was the winner in a record setting elimination in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the Scandinavian Internationals at Tierp Arena. The Finn defeated 2015 EDRS Pro Nordic MC champion Robert Karlsson in the final. In Super Twin Motorcycle Samu Kemppainen made an already perfect season even better by winning the race and the championship. In Super Street Bike Richard Stubbins took the win, while Bj\u00f6rn Fristr\u00f6m won his second consecutive EDRS Pro Nordic MC title.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Scandinavian Internationals at Tierp Arena was the fourth and final round of the 2015 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. Like in qualifying conditions were perfect on Sunday and the riders and fans had an action packed and exciting race day at the state-of-the-art drag race facility north of Stockholm.<\/p>\n

Especially in Pro Stock Motorcycle eliminations were extremely close, quick and exciting. As just before the race weekend championship leader Elvira Karlsson withdrew from the championship as she is pregnant, her father Robert Karlsson was the favourite to win the title.<\/p>\n

And Robert Karlsson won the title in style. With 6.99 and 6.98 seconds Karlsson defeated Timo Savolainen and 2014 champion Kalle Lyr\u00e9n, to advance to the final. In the final the new EDRS Pro Nordic MC champion had to face Fredrik Fredlund, the reigning FIM European champion.<\/p>\n

In a close side-by-side final Fredlund stepped up to 6.99 seconds, while Karlsson \u2018slowed down\u2019 to 7.05 seconds and had to leave the win to Fredlund.<\/p>\n

Ellsa Karlsson<\/p><\/div>\n

Most stunning run of eliminations was for Ellsa Karlsson. In the first round the 17-year old Karlsson stormed to 6.96 seconds, the quickest ever Pro Stock Motorcycle run in Europe. Ellsa Karlsson ended the 2015 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship in second position, with her sister Elvira in third position.<\/p>\n

Samu Kemppainen<\/p><\/div>\n

Like all season Samu Kemppainen was also in a class of his own on elimination day at the Scandinavian Internationals. From the number three qualifying position Kemppainen defeated Greger Johansson and a surprising Roman Sixta to advance to the final. In the final the Finnish rider had to face Vidar Ravnsborg, who defeated number one qualifier Hans Olav Olstad in the semi-final.<\/p>\n

But in the final it was all Kemppainen again. In 6.61 seconds against 7.34 seconds for Ravnsborg, the Finn won his third consecutive EDRS Pro Nordic MC race and is the well deserved champion. Hans Olav Olstad ended the championship in second position, with Per Bengtsson in third and Ravnsborg in fourth.<\/p>\n

In Super Street Bike Dag Wagenius, the number three in the championship, saw his championship hopes disappear when he was eliminated in the quarter finals. No other major upsets and so the number one and two from qualifying, Richard Stubbins and Alex Hope, and the number one and two in the championship, Bj\u00f6rn Fristr\u00f6m and Nils-Ola Andersson advanced to the semi-finals.<\/p>\n

In the semi-finals the two British riders showed their speed again and advanced to the final. As Fristr\u00f6m and Andersson were both eliminated in the same round, reigning EDRS champion Fristr\u00f6m stayed in the number one position and is also the 2015 champion. Andersson ended the championship in second position, with Wagenius in third. The British confrontation in the final was won, as expected, by number one qualifier Stubbins.<\/p>\n

In Top Fuel Motorcycle Jan Sturla Hegre was leading the championship, and as there were no eliminations run at Tierp Arena, the rider from Norway is also the new champion. With Robert Karlsson and Bj\u00f6rn Fristr\u00f6m from Sweden, Samu Kemppainen from Finland and Jan Sturla Hegre from Norway, the 2015 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship has internationals winners.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
