The SpeedEvents Internationals at Tierp Arena were more than just a round of the Summit Racing EDRS Series. The spectators were offered three days of great racing with several personal bests and even a world record that was reset two times. Last but not least the eliminations were more than exciting with several surprise winners. And all of that in glorious weather conditions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

With almost all classes of the Summit Racing EDRS Series and all four classes of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship at present, there was three days of almost non-stop action at the great Tierp Arena track. On Saturday and Sunday the spectators were also treated to some nitro action with runs op Liam Jones and Susanne Callin in their Top Fuel dragsters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In qualifying and eliminations there were several outstanding performances. In Pro Stock qualifying Robin Nor\u00e9n reset his personal best to 6.57 seconds at 339 km\/u. Maybe even more impressive was his string of 6.5-second runs. But once again it was Jimmy \u00c5lund who claimed the number one qualifying position with 6.55 seconds and the race win, although the multiple champion had to admit that he was lucky that the quicker Nor\u00e9n pulled a red light (-0.006 seconds!) in the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Super Twin Marcus Christiansen reset the world record for naturally aspirated bikes twice. On Friday the reigning European champion recorded 6.08 seconds to improve that stunning ET to 6.07 on Saturday. But in the semi-finals of the eliminations Christiansen suffered tyreshake, handing the win to Mikko-ville Kalevi who claimed the race win after defeating Roman Sixta in the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Pro Modified there were also several personal bests. Mats Eriksson claimed the number one qualifying position and the race win after defeating Roger Johansson in the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Top Fuel Motorcycle Rikard Gustafsson was the number one qualifier with 5.75 seconds, which was close to his personal best. But the multiple champion suffered problems in eliminations, handing the win to Kari Rautanen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many great Summit Racing EDRS Series events to come in the next couple of weeks, but everybody is also already looking forward to the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals, August 7-10, round two of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship and the FIM Europe European Drag Bike Championship at the same great Tierp Arena track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
