Swedish BILSPORT Magazine is the long-time\u00a0class sponsor\u00a0for the Pro Modified class. BILSPORT is one of the\u00a0titles owned by the leading motor publishing house in the Nordic region. The company, Albinsson & Sj\u00f6berg, publishes\u00a0around 15 magazine titles, which are distributed in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Poland. Furthermore some 15 exhibitions and events are arranged yearly attracting around 200 000 visitors. www.fabas.se<\/a><\/p>\n

The BILSPORT Pro Mod class sponsorship is\u00a0connected\u00a0to the EDRS Pro concept, which is\u00a0part of the Summit Racing EDRS Series. The BILSPORT Pro Mod calendar\u00a02017 includes the\u00a0four\u00a0biggest\u00a0drag racing\u00a0events in the Nordic region:<\/p>\n

For the 2017 season the\u00a0class sponsorship\u00a0prize fund\u00a0has been increased by 25% to\u00a0100 000 (SEK).
\nIt will\u00a0be\u00a0shared\u00a0by the top 5 drivers. Based on the final points rankings after the four events the\u00a0winner gets\u00a0SEK 50 000. The runner-up is entitled to SEK 20 000, while the\u00a03rd placed driver will\u00a0enjoy a payout of\u00a0SEK 15 000 for his\/her achievement.\u00a0Position 4 is awarded with\u00a0SEK 10 000 and finally the 5th position will get\u00a0SEK 5 000.<\/p>\n

The 2016\u00a0EDRS Pro winner Micke Gullqvist, Sweden\u00a0appreciates BILSPORT\u00b4s continued support and confirms he will once again battle for the title;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

– Yes, we will race the EDRS Pro Series again this year. We only have to add the race at Gardermoen, Norway, to the FIA tour we\u2019re participating in to complete the EDRS.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He sees several benefits\u00a0with\u00a0the BILSPORT Pro Mod\/EDRS Pro concept;\u00a0– It\u2019s a great championship for Scandinavian teams, the events are all on good tracks and there is a good prize fund.\u00a0 I know a lot of teams in the Nordics who don\u00b4t not have the time or budget for long distance travel, which makes the EDRS Pro a perfect fit for them. Before the PM class was introduced in the FIA Championship in 2006, we used to race the EDRS, or NDRS as it used to be called. That was the only championship available for us back then and events in England and Germany were also included. There are a lot of Pro Mod teams in northern Europe and the EDRS provide a great championship to race. I\u2019m sure we will see a continuously increasing number of teams competing in the EDRS Pro, says Gullqvist.<\/p>\n

Micke Gullqvist\u00a0has his mind set on a few goals for the race season;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

– We will try to win the championship again for sure. In addition to that I would really like to improve our ET record some, so we might just step it up a little.<\/div>\n
