After a race full of upsets, the reigning FIA European Pro Modified champion defeated surprise finalist Stian Rus\u00e5nes from Norway. In Top Methanol Daniel Jedborn claimed the win against another surprise finalist, Top Methanol Funny Car rookie Magnus Larsson. In Pro Stock Jimmy \u00c5lund won the trophy after defeating Richard Sundblom, who suffered traction problems in the final. Stefan Winter, Birgitta Lindstr\u00f6m and Bo Nylund were the winners in Competition Eliminator, Pro Street and Stock Super Stock respectively after also action packed eliminations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>It was a great day of racing at Tierp Arena with many major upsets in eliminations and several surprise winners in the EDRS Pro Car classes at the EDRS Sweden Nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/pm_arthursson_e.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/pm_arthursson_e.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14378\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The first round of eliminations in Bilsport EDRS Pro Modified was full of upsets. Multiple FIA European champion Michael Gullqvist and Mats Eriksson ran into problems and were defeated, while Roger Johansson was not able to start after the Swedish veteran Pro Mod racer suffered engine problems in qualifying. Star of round one was Andreas Arthursson. The number one qualifier stormed to a stunning 5.713 seconds at 416.99 km\/h, the best ET ever recorded in Europe so far and a new EDRS record. But it was also the end of his race as the turbo engine suffered severe damage in the run and Arthursson had to withdraw from eliminations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/pm_rusanes_e.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/pm_rusanes_e.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14380\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There were no problems for the number two qualifier, Jan Ericsson. After defeating Marcus Perman in the first round and Marck Harteveld, who recorded a new personal best with 5.92 seconds, in the quarter finals, the reigning FIA European Pro Modified champion had to face David Vegter in the semifinals. Ericsson recorded another strong 5.8 seconds, while Vegter ran into problems. In the final Ericsson had to face Stian Rus\u00e5nes, from Norway. The number twelve qualifier surprised with wins over Gullqvist, Jesper Stenberg and \u00c5ke Persson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/pm_final.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/pm_final.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14379\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the final Rus\u00e5nes fairy tale weekend came to an end as Ericsson was once again in a class of his own and stormed to the win in 5.80 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/ps_alund_qs-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/ps_alund_qs-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14372\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In Pro Stock the number two qualifier, Stefan Ernryd, was out in the first round after the Dodge driver suffered tyreshake. Jimmy \u00c5lund, the number one qualifier, was once again in a class of his own. The multiple FIA European champion defeated Lasse Britsmar and Robin Nor\u00e9n in consistent 6.60-second runs. For Nor\u00e9n it was his first race in his new car and as he improved every run, Nor\u00e9n was still happy after the race. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/ps_final.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/ps_final.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14373\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the final \u00c5lund had to face Richard Sundblom, the number three qualifier from Finland. In the final Sundblom immediately ran into problems with tyreshake while \u00c5lund stormed to the win in 6.615 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/tm_jedborn_e.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/tm_jedborn_e.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14376\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In Top Methanol Magnus Larsson surprised. In his first race in a Top Methanol Funny Car the rookie advanced to the final after Silvio Strauch ran into problems in the burn out and number one qualifier Jonny Lagg pulled a red light in the semifinal. Daniel Jedborn, the number two qualifier, advanced to the final after defeating Tony Bryntesson in the first round and a bye run in the semifinal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/tm_final.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/tm_final.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14375\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the final Larsson suffered tyreshake while Jedbord ran a solid 5.60 seconds to claim the victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/compel_final_e.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/compel_final_e.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14377\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In Competition Eliminator the numbers one and two qualifiers, Roger Forsstr\u00f6m and Jens Eklund, went out in the first round. Eliminations were an all foreign affair as Jens Zimmermann from Germany and Stefan Winter from Switzerland advanced to the final. In the final Winter took the win light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/prostreet_f.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/prostreet_f.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14371\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In Pro Street the number one qualifier Christer \u00c5berg went all the way to the final to meet the number fifteen qualifier Birgitta Lindstr\u00f6m. In the final \u00c5berg went too quick for the 7.6- second index, handing the win to Lindstr\u00f6m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/sss_final_e.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dragracingeurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/sss_final_e.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14374\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the extremely close 30-car Stock Super Stock field Bo Nylund and Erik Phersson had to face each other in the final.
