Santa Pod Raceway welcomes the FIA European Championship grand finale

The FIA European Drag Racing Championship reaches its climax with the European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway, the traditional grand finale of the season. In three categories the championship still has to be decided and especially in Pro Modified, where the numbers one and two, Michael Gullqvist and Jan Ericsson, are separated by only four points, the title fight may last until the final run of the season. In Top Fuel Anita Mäkelä is the favourite to retain her title, while in Top Methanol Sandro Bellio might become the first Belgian driver to win an FIA European title in drag racing. In Pro Stock Jimmy Ålund claimed the title in the penultimate race of the season at Tierp Arena, but in this category the fight for the second position is still open. Jan Sturla Hegre, Torsti Kettula, Ida Zetterström and Kenneth Holmberg clinch the 2019 EDRS Pro Nordic MC titles at Tierp Arena

The Summit Racing Equipment Internationals at Tierp Arena, the fourth and final round of the 2019 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship, was once again a great end of the season where even history was made. In Super Street Bike Ida Zetterström cliched the title with a win over Vesa Ruhanen in the semifinal. Zetterström is the first female rider to win a championship in this category of the EDRS Pro Nordic MC. The race was won by outgoing champion Mathias Bohlin. In Top Fuel Motorcycle Jan Sturla Hegre won the title in style by claiming the event win. Torsti Kettula is the new champion in Super Twin Motorcycle, but Tommy Lee Grimes claimed the race win. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Kalle Lyrén was the winner at Tierp while the title went to Kenneth Holmberg. Peter Östlund claimed his second consecutive title in Super Comp Bike, while Heikki-Juhani Koskinen is the 2019 champion in Super Gas Bike. Continue reading

Maja Udtian, Michael Gullqvist, Sandro Bellio and Robin Norén winners at Tierp Arena

Maja Udtian raced to victory in the Top Fuel final of the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals, round five of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Tierp Arena in Sweden. It was the first win for the 21-year-old racer from Norway in her first full season in the championship. Udtian also reset the European elapsed time record in eliminations and defeated reigning champion Anita Mäkelä in an exciting all-female final. In Pro Modified Michael Gullqvist claimed the victory after elimination rounds full of major upsets. In Top Methanol championship leader Sandro Bellio extended his lead with a win. In Pro Stock Robin Norén upset with a win in the final over championship leader and 10-time European Pro Stock champion Jimmy Ålund. Continue reading

Vesa Lipponen (Top Fuel Motorcycle), Tommy Lee Grimes (Super Twin Motorcycle), Kalle Lyrén (Pro Stock Motorcycle) and Mathias Bohlin (Super Street Bike) claimed the number one qualifying positions at the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals at Tierp Arena and will lead their respective categories into Sunday’s eliminations at the fourth and final round of the 2019 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. Jndia Erbacher, Jan Ericsson, Jonny Lagg and Jimmy Ålund number one qualifiers at Tierp Arena

After a mind-blowing second day of qualifying Jndia Erbacher (Top Fuel), Jan Ericsson (Pro Modified), Jonny Lagg (Top Methanol) and Jimmy Ålund (Pro Stock) claimed the number one qualifying positions at the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals at Tierp Arena and will lead their respective categories into Sunday’s eliminations at the fifth round of the 2019 FIA European Drag Racing Championship. Thomas Pettersson, Tommy Lee Grimes, Mathias Bohlin and Kalle Lyrén Friday leaders at Tierp Arena

Tommy Lee Grimes stormed to a great 6.31 seconds to claim the provisional number one qualifying position in Super Twin Motorcycle at the first day of qualifying for the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals, the fourth and final round of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship at Tierp Arena in Sweden. In Super Street Bike Mathias Bohlin impressed with a great 7.01 seconds to secure the provisional number one qualifying spot, while in Pro Stock Motorcycle Kalle Lyrén ran a great 7.00 seconds to claim the number one position after the first day of qualifying.
